Default Aston Martin V8 Vantage

I can finally put this post now. I was about to post it but then my site was overloaded because too many people went to my site and it is now blocked for the rest of the month. Anyways, I found another solution so here it is.

I saw a month ago, in Brussels, an Aston Martin which I thought was just a normal DB9, but it says Vantage on the back. Then I thought it must be the AM V8 but someone whom I thought knew about cars told me it was impossible. Well, I found from two sources, the AA in UK and Aston Martin themselves and here are the results.

Quote:
Yes, it is the new car – the V8 Vantage – I think in one of our new colours, Meteorite Silver.

Well the AA results are on my page so are the photos. So cool! I saw the AMV8! images/smilies/lol.gif

Any word on pricing yet? I e-mailed my local Aston dealer and asked....they haven't responded. images/smilies/mad.gif

I'll be sure to mention this when I go and buy one! images/smilies/tongue.gif

Just when I'm looking around for a mint condition Lotus Esprit, Aston has to makes things more complicated for me!

If the price on that V8 Vantage is about the same as a used late model Esprit, then I just MIGHT have to go with the Aston!

Yeah 100k sounds about right, depends what you do with it I suppose. It really was a good looking car... And the innards! Wow! If I can say this, it's even better than the DB9 interior, well it is very similar but there are a few subtle differences... Very nice! 8)

The ones I've seen have been $40-60k US.
The V8 Vantage may be closer to $80k, but I'd gladly pay the difference!

JamesOh now you see I would have loved to of heard that! images/smilies/lol.gif That was a hilarious segment!

As for the AMV8, it looks small? Is it smaller than a DB9?

Yup, mini DB9 apparently. But it look soooooo gooood! I've seen tons of DB7s (normal, Vantage and Volantes) and DB9 (normal and Volantes) in Brussels but nothing strikes me more than when I saw the AM V8! images/smilies/w00t.gif

How long is he going to keep milking this one!

Just kidding! images/smilies/tongue.gif

Wish I could have seen it. I've booked a test drive for the first batch they are getting into Australia.

This should give you an idea of the size:

http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/7801/amv8108iv.jpg

About the same size as a 911. That is quite small compared to the DB9, but remember it doesn't have those rear seats and the hatchback design utilises the storage space.

I can't wait to make this my stylish run about. The chicks are gonna dig it! 8) images/smilies/tongue.gif

Being around the size of a P911, it still might be bigger than a big american corvette (which car and driver says is actually less in length than a carrera)

Looks cheaper..

I'd rather get a 911S, or a DB9..

This is too "mini" for me, and it doesn't look as good as the DB9.

If you're talking visually - the DB9 is a lot bigger than the V8. Overall styling themes are similar though (I personally don't have a problem telling them apart - in fact the more I look at the V8 the more I see how different it is to the DB9). The V8 has much tauter body surfaces - it's 'skin' is drawn much tighter with bulging wheelarches

AMV8

DB9

Oh, and I want an AMV8 - anyone know how much a kidney sells for these days??
