As you can see the Kappa platform uses parts from GM American.

It is basically a smaller version of the Corvette platform.
The article implied it was a German design. I honestly could give 2 shits about which part of GM made it. I was merely trying to confirm who made it, as all I saw was 2 posts with no proof, both saying differently.

Yes you are are right: link here

So even though the thread became a US-basher, id like to revive it and conclude by describing modern cars, by country of origin, with one word:

I live in Montreal, Canada, so of course our market wont receive certain cars.

Japanese
well-built

American
Cheap (in both senses)

italian
expensive

British
Ingenious

German
Performant

Korean
manufactured

Expensive? Ingenious? Try changing those to "passionate" and "traditional" and you'll get it.

(Still don't get the point of this thread, though.)

Copying American cars of the 50's, except better handling.

Yeah - Danny Tran - give the Italians a little more credit. I also feel a little reticent to assign genious to the British car industry of late. Jags, Morgans, and Rovers (RIP) are hardly paradigms of innovation. I'm with Blaro.

I am aware of the fact that you can't buy Fiat/Lancia and Alfa all over the world, but we shouldn't exclude them and just say: "Italians: expensive".

The majority of italian cars are cheap-medium priced and very niceimages/smilies/mrgreen.gif
