That is quite awesome.
But to be honest the Zonda S on the evo long term test fleet is more awesome![]()
...I'm meant to put something here?
Obviously sick of driving crossover utility vehicles all the time, Edmunds' Inside Line just added a 1984 Ferrari 308 GTSi to its long term test fleet. It'll be super interesting to read about how a 23 year old Ferrari will hold up over 12 months. Kind of reminds me of that old supercar episode on Top Gear when they all eventually broke down. $28k for a 23 year old car is a lot, but if this Ferrari holds up, it could end up being a great buy.

197Nice. This is one long term test I'll keep an eye on, I've always been curious as to how "reliable" these things are, and just how expensive they are to own.
I've heard a while back that Ferrari 308 owners are quite cheap, they are the easiest "real" Ferrari's to get into after all.I walked in and asked the guy if he had any Ferrari key fobs. He said he had three and began to pull them out of the display case. Then he said, "First I have this one, it's $169.99."
For a freakin' key fob? It was nice. Leather. Embossed Ferrari badge. But come on, it's a key fob.
"What else you got?" I said.
"Well, I have this one with the Ferrari crest."
"How much?"
"$18.95."
"Still kind of pricey," I said. "Anything else."
"Is that your 308?" he said looking over my shoulder and out the window.
"It is."
"I think I have just the thing for you." And he pulled out a featureless silver fob with the name Ferrari on one side and the company shield on the other. "$11.95."
"I'll take it."
0yeah but id still rather be seen in a 308
I have been up close with 308s at track-days and they are very fine cars, the Zonda on the other hand is a twitchy greenhouse that costs way to much to enjoy driving passionately (well for me it does, if i was bathing in benjamins then maybe Zonda wouldn't be so bad)
Nice, very nice. Possibly quite brave financially too, if Evo's Zonda (two clutch problems so far) is anything to go by.
Still, freakin' awesome to see these cars getting a run on fleets like this - you don't often get a chance to read what they're really like to live with.
Awesome! I like older cars (as you might know) and I'm always interested to find out what their like to live with by todays standards. The 308 is certainly über cool even if it doesn't have the same reputation for quality or performance as some other Ferrari's of similar vintage.
Metcalfe's clutch problems were the result of an ill-fitted after-market modification from the previous owner. Hopefully now that that's sorted it should be just as cheap to run as the Murciélago.![]()
^ Ah, I see - I buy it from the newsagent, so I'm a couple of issues behind.
Go to boarders, they should have up to date issues.
(My newsagent has them flown in so I get them pretty quickly. Costs me seventeen-damn-bucks tho!)
^ That's why I don't but the latest issues - I want the mag, but I'm not paying that much for the air-freighted copies.
EVO is getting hard to find here, the newsagents don't seem to have the month late issues, nor does Borders. The only place I can get the current it is at Borders at that's $20....
