Anyone else been watching? I'm pretty sure Ron Pratt is my hero.

I watched the big marathon they had the first week this month, man that place rakes in the cash...I think they got $10mil over a day once?

That Shelby Cobra Super Snake was just hot....$5.5mil images/smilies/drool.gif. It would be nice to go there on a budget day, and pick up a sweet resto/restomod for $30k.

SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

Thats also fucked over a large number of people. Unless your car is high profile, or you are, they have more than once rushed 'em off the stage.

There was a really good looking Model A pick-up (had lots of detailed machine work, and a wood floor) sold at BJ, when bidding hit about $230k they just said "sold" no countdown and bidding was still rising. To make things worse for this particular group... they ran their car right after all the multi-million Mopars and exotics/classics.

I have a disliking for Barrett-Jackson as it's bringing in people to buy these cars only as an investment, raising their prices for the people that actually want them.

I can see the point in that, but i don't think that its anything that wouldn't normally have happened, so i don't blame Barrett-Jackson.

With that said its made a big deal about muscle cars, and i'm still undecided what i think about that, i remember when i was 15 (5 years or so) you could find a genuine Charger Daytona or Superbird for under 50k, and a genuine AAR Cuda or under 100 grand, now you pretty much have to be Ron Pratt if you want to own either of those cars.

With that said i enjoy looking at all the shiny cars go on and off the block, as well as speculating on prices and then complaining about how dumb people are whenever I'm wrong.

That's my beef with them. I absolutely hate car collectors; I feel that cars are supposed to be driven. Mostly I'm just jealous though images/smilies/tongue.gif. The trend of ever escalating prices on old iron would probably happen with or without them, but they're not helping anything.

The collectors putting them in museums and to preserve I don't have a problem with. It's the guys who are just business men who buy them just to make a profit on, and/or to hide away from the world.
