Never mind a Porsche Carrera, I want an $85,000 bicycle with a small motor that will rip my testies off if I crash and make me dress like a sperm! Don't forget that I also can't corner OR brake!

Wheee!

Also love this gem:

"sounds like a NASCAR race car'

Now, I'm sorry, I've stood next to a NASCAR revving to 8k RPM without hearing protection and I just want to say this:

Fuck no.

An F/A 18 flying 50 feet over my head with the afterburner on is quieter.

way more than twice the price

to quote wikipedia:
Quote:
In 2004, Ducati announced that they would be producing a low volume bespoke replica of the Desmosedici, available from 2006.

Termed the Desmosedici RR (Racing Replica), it was claimed to be the first true road replica of a MotoGP racing bike. Priority for ordering was given to Ducati 999R owners, with production projected at one bike per day at a retail cost of US$72,500[20] and GBP£40,000.[21] The price includes a three year warranty and servicing, cover plus a racing kit including a "race only" exhaust system, a "slip-on" muffler and complimentary fuel and ignition mapping in a "race ECU". Production has been limited to 1500 motorcycles.

The bike was eventually launched at the 2006 Italian MotoGP event at Mugello, with production beginning in December 2007 and the first customer orders delivered from January 2008. Ducati guaranteed customer orders will be fulfilled by the end of 2008. The entire allocation for the United States sold out in five hours.[22]

Heres a Jaguar XJR15.... #11 of 50.
This particular one even got 2nd at Silverstone.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jagua...QQcmdZViewItem

Quote:
Jaguar XJR 15-#011

In the fifties, Jaguars dominated the Le Mans 24 Hour race. C-Type and D-Type cars scored victories in 1951,'53,'55,'56 and '57. Over three decades later, under the leadership of Tom Walkinshaw, Jaguar once again scored Le Man's victories in 1988 and 1990. More importantly, Jaguar won three World Sportscar Championship titles, finally breaking Porsche's long reign in endurance racing. Clearly, Jaguar's outstanding competition pedigree had been reaffirmed.

In this positive environment, Jaguar decided to release a car to selected customers closely based on the Le Mans winning XJR-9. Jaguar formed a partnership with Tom Walkinshaw Racing and created JaguarSport. On November 15, 1990 a press release announced the creation of the XJR-15. Priced at $1,000,000 each, these cars were made in a strictly limited quantity. A pre-condition of order was that customers agree to enter the cars (using professional drivers only) in a three race series entitled the Jaguar Intercontinental Challenge. The series included races at Monoco, Silverstone and Spa. Driver's included Davy Jones, Bob Wollek, Derek Warick, David Brabham, Juan FangioII and the series winner Armin Hahne.

The XJR-15 uses the same central monocoque as the XJR-9 designed by Tony Southgate. It is constructed of lightweight composite materials including carbon fiber and Kevlar. XJR-9 suspension was retained all round with fabricated wishbones and horizontally mounted pushrod spring damper units at the front and coil springs at the rear. Four pot AP racing calipers mounted to the disc brackes are housed completely within the wheels to maximize width of venturi tunnels. The engine is a 450bhp 6 liter alloy, dry sump V12 engine constructed to Group C specification ( Cosworth forged alluminium pistons, forged crank and rods). Fuel is delivered via Zytec electronically controlled, sequential feul injection. The transmission is a TWR six speed, straight cut transaxle matched to a triple plate carbon AP clutch. The car weighs in a 2,315 lbs. Top speed is 215 mph.

Serial number #011. Was owned and driven in the race series by Bob Wollek. Mr Wollek a well respected and accomplished driver ehose record includs a 2000 Le Mans win. His race results were:

Date Track Finish

5-12-91 Monoco 6th place

7-14-91 Silverstone,England 2nd place

8-25-91 Spa, Belgium 5th place

After the Spa race the car was retired from professional competition. It is important to note that #011 never experienced any racing contact during its service. The car came to United States in 1993 and has resided in a private collection. It remains in its original competition livery. The car has been maintained in full racing condition.

The XJR-15 is considered to be Jaguar's ultimate supercar. It is thought to be amongst the most beautiful Jaguars ever produced, ranking alongside the C type, D type and XKR 13 in it aesthetic appeal. Of the 50 total cars produced only 23 were constructed to racin specifications. Serial number 011 represents an outstanding example opf the competition model. It's original racing livery has been completely preserved. It's driver and racing history are documented and well known. The car is one of only three existing in North America. It maintains full EPA and DOT filings (for track and racing use). Representing one of the best examples in the world.
