| ok i saw the gumball 3000 movie, 2003, and noticed burt reynolds was narrating. why is he narrating gumball but has no affiliation, that i know of, with the cannonball races that are done even though he was in 2 cannonball movies in the 80s. anyone know if theres a connection or history between cannonball and gumball, both modern races had movies in the late 70s early 80s about going from NY to LA. anyone care to shed some knowledge??

| Your Guide to TG/FG | I don't know about connections between them, but the cannonball movies are based on true stories of the actual races in the 70's / 80's. The audio commentary on the DVD of the first cannonball movie talks about them, it's great . |

Car: Opel Astra / Suzuki VX800 Rep Power: 19 ![]() | There's no official cconnection but the gumball is inspired by canonball, only originally european... the guy who runs gumball is british and the first "races" were held in europe. Burt Reynolds is narratind the gumball 3000 BECAUSE he was in the movies and therefore has legendary status in the whole "scene". And it doesn't hurt that the people responsible for gumball are stinking rich and can thus affort Reynolds ![]() |
