Default Classic Fiat ad with a twist

My mother saw this in a 1972 issue of Reader's Digest and thought I'd like it. I decided to scan it and share.

Cool. My dad have owned 3 Fiat 127 (the hatchback version) the last 20 years. The last one gave up a couple of months ago.

(Not my dad, but the car looks excatly the same)

Now he has bought a Ford Escort 1,4 something... from 1995
He liked the 127 because he could fix everything on it (and everything often needed fixing) and the spareparts are so cheap they almost throw them at you. He atleast spent one sunday every month fixing something on it (Brakes, suspension, rust, engine, you name it). I think it was kinda hes hobby keeping them running. the ones he had, had a 900 cc (0,9 liter) aluminium engine with the insane output of 45 hp (when new). I actually liked driving the 127 better than the Ford. This may sound strange because the Fiat has half the hp, no brake assist, no power steering, are almost 25 years older and is kinda woobly. But it has far more, what i would call soul because you can feel the simpel mechanics around the car doing their job when they are used. I feel far more in touch with the car. Yes yes, compared to a new car it is pretty bad, some would say awful, but it's a honest little machine.

edit: fixed a miss spelling

Reminds me of the old VW Beetle ads (Ugly. But it gets you there etc.) and the Citroen 2CV ones (Faster than a Ferrari. A Citroen 2CV travelling at 70mph can easily overtake a Ferrari 308GTB travelling at 64mph).

I've got them at home, but they need to be scanned.
