I saw an accident the other day and all the parts and stuff were everywhere.(nobody killed) I thought about going back after it was towed off and see if i cant find the Mercedes hood badge because it wasn't on the car when it was being towed. I didn't go back, but i was thinking, I think ill start a collection of badges and emblems and hood ornaments. Things like a Ferrari hood badge or a 760 from a 760i, a design di Pininfarina or the M from a BMW M car. Anybody know where i can start? I want to find authentic badges and ornaments, make a nice collection.

I've just taken a look around ebay. They seem to have everything there. Most of the items seemed fake but there was always an item that looked real to me.
You might want to ask yourself if a real badge is worth the money though. Especially exotic ones seem to cost a lot. |

I have a job plus a little extra from workstudy so money really isnt an object. i cant really say its an authentic collection if its fake. I was thinking about buying a few of the fake Ebay ones to replace the originals on my Ferrari M5 760Gti

I know an easy way of getting hood-ornamets but it'll require a bit of crim work
But I checked last year and remember seeing heaps of them on Ebay so yeh thats your best choice. Some of them are damn pricey ($60USD) each.. |

YOU BETTER BE TALKING ABOUT A LEGIT COLLECTION! If there is one think that F**K'S me off more then anything it is dickheads who think it is cool to badge your car. I've had some ass take the S600 and V12 badges off the S-Class and there has been damage done to the Bentley where somebody has tried to remove the emblem on the bonnet. (Thankfully the damage wasn't bad and has been repaired). I even had someone take the badges from my Monaro! It is annoying because they so stupidly damage your property and it takes time and money to fix! I have an Aston Martin badge, but I didn't go and leaver it off my neighbours Vanquish! No, I actually went down to the dealership and bought it! [/rant] Sorry to rant, just "badgers" REALLY annoy me! People always see it as a victimless crime...until you are the victim.

i got a bunch of badges thanks to junkyards and friends. porsche, jag, alfa, etc...
porsche and BMW will cost you about $10 on ebay, but something like a ferrari horse will cost you about $75 if its authentic, less if it isnt. i have a F355 dash badge, and its worth about $55 on ebay, and probably $100+ new (its about 10cm long). no i didnt steal it or pay, i got it off my friend who has a 355 dash. one day i'll take a photo of my crap

Someone here once posted a pic of their collection of car badges - they had them up on their wall along with some other car bits they got from a wrecker. Was that you AutoMX??

No, it wasn't the Porsche... It was the Volvo!!! I kid you not. Funny thing is, they took the "VOLVO" off the boot but left the "850 R"... I love the car to bits, a laugh to drive, but honestly, why the fuck would anyone want to badge a Volvo? I mean seriously, it isn't exactly the coolest badge in the world

^ I thought Volvo owners were nicer than that!
I actually wouldn't mind taking an afternoon off collecting rare badges in a junkyard from wrecked cars (if they don't take them off already) and maybe do some photography. Too bad I don't know where the nearest junkyard is, or how its owners would feel about some skinny Asian kid mindlessly poking around with a fabulously expensive camera... Though I found a "Chevrolet" badge off of a Silverado once in the middle of the street, near a construction site. That was neat.

Just today, my brother got a Lexus badge for his car. His car was getting serviced and he simply requested for another badge and they gave it for free.
He said something like "because I have a bodykit on my car, I dont have the badge anymore. Could I have another one?" So it cant be too hard to get a badge these days. Just thought i'd post it.
