That would be my #5. All my cars are now gone.
The reason I gave it 6 points is because I definitely wanted an Aston on my list, and I consider the V8 Vantage the most beautiful one ever made. I've never really liked the classic ones, and among the modern designs the V8 Vantage is the cleanest and most tasteful one. In terms of design it's not a little sister to the DB9, it's an evolution. |

The New Vantage is nowhere near as good looking as the DB7 or the old V8 Vantage:

Don't like the looks of that old Vantage too much, but there sure are Astons that look better than the current Vantage (or have the DB5 or DB9 been mentioned yet?)

I thought the Vantage would be lower than that. The DB9 and DB5 are way better than the Vantage as we may see later on.

![]() I can't understand why the general public would rank any other Aston over this. The old Vantage is a box, the DB7 looks like a Jaguar which is dull, the DB9 is full of imperfections, the Vanquish is to wavy and the DBS is a cluttered DB9. I don't think I'm gonna make any progress on this subject though...

There's no way a V8 vantage is better looking than a DB9, or a DB7, and to prove your wrong, the DB9 hasn't even been mentioned yet, so it is definitely higher up on the list. It IS a "little sister" to the DB9 and it isn't an "evolution." An evolution would be a DB10.

![]() My opinion here : I find it hard to tell the difference between the V8 Vantage and the DB9 when I see them in person. To me they look very similar (too similar?). The V8 has a hatchback, which is more practical, but the DB9's added length make it a bit more right for me. Anywho, more updatery tonight.

![]() And I'm not saying that it is considered a more beautiful car than it's bigger sisters, because it isn't. I just think it should be and try to explain why. Last edited by vanMould; May 24th, 2008 at 12:11 PM. |

teeb, you might need to speed this up a bit?
![]() You could for example just count the votes and put together all remaining cars that haven't reached top-10 and concentrate on those top 10 cars with longer stories? |

You'll get more info/story and more pictures for every top-10 update, though, definately. ![]() Today's Trivia : This isn't the first time a newer version of an older car has proven more popular. See also the Corvette, the new Fiat 500, and the Ford GT. 28 points ![]() Jaguar XK (new; includes XKR votes) The current-generation Jaguar XK was first released in 2007, and it was designed by Ian Callum - current Design Director at Jaguar and also the designer of the Aston Martin DB7 and Vanquish. At launch some complained about the similarity - especially in profile - of these cars. The grille on this model is inspired by the 1961 E-type's. In an unusual turn, the coupe XK was based on the convertible, and not vice versa. This meant that the structural rigidity of the convertible was better than expected, as the engineers didn't have to worry about chopping the roof off. Underneath the XK is an all-aluminium monocoque first seen in Jaguar's Advanced Lightweight Coupe Concept (2005), the precursor to the XK. The XK is powered by Jaguar's AJ-V8 engine, in both standard 300bhp, and in XKR form a supercharged 420bhp. An XKR-S is also now on the road, with no actual power increase but a higher engine nanny limit (174mph top speed), for a fiver short of £80,000.

Seriously, why vote for that over its equivalent Aston counterparts?? They were the first designed and look way better than it IMHO.
