Car: Ford Focus XR5T Rep Power: 0 ![]() | It looks like Ford it looking to Toyota for help. Not to keen on them wanting to adopt the hybrid tech (are there better alternatives?) http://www.news.com.au/business/stor...70-462,00.html |

| I'm not too happy about this, but if you want to ask someone how to be successful Toyota isn't a bad place to start. | |

Don't think so - it is still a complete waste of both companies time and money IMHO. Still I have been known to be wrong. |

Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Someone ALLWAYS does. ![]() There's allways some redneck that goes "no, but US Fords/Chevrolets/Chryslers are the greatest cars in the whole world, anyone who drives a European car, is just a frenchy!". ![]() No, I'm not too serious about that description, but you get the point. ![]()

Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() | I know you're no yank. ![]() I was refering to someone. Someone just allways has to say that. There is allways someone need to start some sort of flame war, then someone presents facts that show that a US Ford gets 4.56 % better fuel ecconomy at 90mph on an empty highway than lets say a Ford Mondeo, then someone pulls some results from the ring, that says that an Ariel Atom is faster round the ring than the Z06, which is followed up by someone saying that the 911 Turbo actually uses more fuel than a Z06, then there's someone saying that a Z06 uses more fuel than a Polo 1.4, not to forget the guy who says that a lorry uses more fuel than the Z06 in the first place, then someone asks what is wrong with Italian cars, and why no one has mentioned them? Then some yank says that the Z06 gets better fuel ecconomy than a Ferrari F430, then someone says that Bush is a jerk, followed by someone saying that Blair is too, then someone just out of nowhere starts jabbing on about Angela Merkel, and her chubby legs, and then someone asks why no one has said anything about the Ventury, and we start over again. Phuuuuuuu. You get the point ![]()

| They asked, didn't they? They'll no doubt be sending money Toyotas way. How better an indication could there possibly be?

Next time a flame war starts just cut and paste your post as you've covered all the points in one go. Perhaps a mature discussion could then be had about whatever the real point of the thread was. GraemeH As I said I could very well be wrong. |

Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Allright, additions: ..then someone comes along talking about the fact that french cars doesn't use leaf springs, and therefore is over enginered rubbish, someone tells me in a bissare manner that pushrods weigh less than a European gearbox, I ask what the f*** is the point of saying that, I get the answer that's none of my buissness, and that it's relevant, because the 66 Ford Anglia didn't have anything else than drum brakes, and therefore, it reminds him/her a bit of their granny's 43 Ford, someone says that the 43 Ford Pickup actually gets worse fuel ecconomy than a 66 Ford Anglia, according to veteran mags they just had lying around, and that the Anglia would be crushed in a crash with the pickup, then someone from France says that the 04 Megane would crush both of them, and that his 03 Megane hasn't broken yet, but that the weight of the interior trim falling off isn't more than the weight of the interior trim that has come off his friends Mustang. To weigh this up, someone says that French cars are rubbish, and that they really like Beemers instead, followed by someone saying that they once rode a E30 316i which wasn't that fast, but the 66 bigblock 'Vette they once drove was faster, to be followed by someone arguing that the E46 M3 is faster in a straight line and will handle better.

Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() | No no no, Norwegian cars are way better! And as for the combination of leaf springs and a plastic body, that was NOT invented by Chevrolet with the Vette! It was invented by some farmers in Norway who called the car Troll!
