Default Help identify this "Bentley" mystery car from hell

First of all, sorry if this should be in the Guess that car game or I saw... threads, but I didn't think this post quite fit in either or those topics.

I caught this beast parked outside Waitrose on Marylebone High Street in London. From the badges, I quickly identified at as a Bentley, but the model was totally alien to me:

http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/3269/b17ts.jpg

At the time (this was in February 2005) I thought it might be the four door version of the Continental GT that was coming out, but it looked nothing like it, and now, of course, I know exactly what the Flying Sperm looks like.

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/2241/b24fs.jpg

I've emailed all my mötorhead friends and even emailed Top Gear, but no-one knows what this is.

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/8986/b36vl.jpg

It kinda looks like Death's official car on Planet Earth, if he had such a thing. Any ideas of what it is? It's like the lovechild of a new fugly BMW 7er and a Maserati Quattroporte or one of those masked spycars. For some reason, it also gave me a Chrysler-vibe.

images/smilies/vampire.gif

What the hell is it?!?

images/smilies/wallbash.gif

Thanks for your help. I'm going nuts here...

Its probably a one-off custom model. Not sure on any specifics.

Even if it is a kit car, what the hell is it based on? The back end strikes me as CLS, but the rest of the body doesnt. That low slung front end reminds me of early 90's Aston's...something like a modern-day Lagonda...

Hmm...these are all good ideas. But do Bentley produce one-offs? I didn't know there was a Russian bodykit market/movement out there. What else have they done? And like bassheadjazzVR6 said - if it's a kit car, what the hell is it based on??

For some reason, the headlights and long bonnet look very American to me. Did you notice the side intake "gills" at the front. Probably cosmetic, but could that be a clue?

Good spot on the rims andyhui01 but how can you tell they're just stickers? In this detailed picture, they appear to be molded:

http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/1498/brim7pw.jpg

Keep the ideas coming - together we'll crack this (Russian?) nut.

Bentley Mulliner can do pretty much anything to customise a Bentley, including body shape changes. There's some interesting stuff they've done on the Bentley Motors website (which only works with Firefox on my PC images/smilies/unsure.gif ). Send 'em the photos and they might be able to tell you if it's one of theirs.

By the way gentlemen, all those above photos are just wrong!!! I'll be having nightmares about the dude with a pink teddy bear!!! images/smilies/ohmy.gif
