Default Honda

On the link to the official Honda web site it says:

Quote:
Honda (UK)
Full Honda range of cars, motorbikes, scooters, power equipment, lawnmowers
Well we all know most of thier cars have lawnmower engines, but I would have thought they wouldn't have admitted it images/smilies/tongue.gif

I'd like to stuff an S2000 engine into my Toro.

It's a GTS y'know. "Guaranteed to Start". How about GTO, "Guaranteed to Operate"? We can get some licensing deals with Pontiac, possibly come out with some "The Judge" edition mowers painted in wacky colors. It'll be neat.

S2000 engines are fabulous - about as far from a lawnmower as you can get. IMO bit too many gear changes (6) but they are a hoot images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Don't forget their generators, outboard motors, water pumps, scooters, and snowblowers (!) , according to their web site.

There's no doubt that Honda makes some of the best engines in the world. Their F1 engines have continually been more powerful than its rivals. For pure NA power, Honda is hard to beat.

Honda (like all Japanese car companies) did not start out making cars. Honda was the world's largest motorcycle company when they were allowed to create their first car.

Honda does make excellent motorcycles. I've owned two!

They take pride in making engines. I don't see nothing wrong in expanding their business to emcompass all internal combustion engines. This just means that they are NOT a car company but rather specialise in one component--this is probably why Honda aborted their idea to have their own complete F1 car.

Come on, TGG! You know that the best car companies are the ones that only make cars. (Much like the best watches come from companies making only watches.)

Honda are SHIT. They are complete fuckers with completely fucking boring cars, bikes and whatever other boring motorized shit they build. Honda employees arrive in the morning for a company-wide circle jerk and ummm... running out of material images/smilies/lol.gif

What?? Crazy talk - by that logic Toyota make better cars than Honda since they make their own F1 car. Honda are a car company and make some bloody good cars.

Let's see, BMW also makes motorbikes, so what does that make them? And Lamborghini, they make tractors. The best cars are the result of passionate people being empowered to do their best - that can happen whether a company only makes cars or also has other business interests.

pdanev - I was wondering what the point of the thread was too - it's not like anyone went "Holy shit, you mean Honda make things other than cars??". Another piece of top detective work from TGG.

Hondas are great, my Dad owns an 02 Accord with the V6 in it. I drive the car a lot and I really like it alot. It has decent power, goes quick enough for me and it has a lot of neat little features that come in handy. It has about 35,000 miles on it right now and has not broken down yet.

Regardless of what people think of the name, Honda makes some really good engines.
I just noticed "my" civic has done 263500 km and it can still out run/accelerate those school-boy wannabe-race-drivers in their golf/kadet/206, much to the enjoyment of me images/smilies/mrgreen.gif
