besides.. ppl who can afford a lexus must have quite a bit in his bank, he is certain going to be aware of his image. so why get a lexus when you can have a merc for around the same price? thats the badge image that general ppl have gotten used to. its the same reason when ppl buy their expensive ocz ram or asus laptop etc. if there was a big price difference then i can understand, but not when they are priced competitively.

Yup, there built in Cambridge (same place with the very good uni). Both road and race variants are built see: http://www.mosler.co.uk/mosler/index.htm

bar the up class Japanese's manufactures I don't think Europe misses out on much. I do think a Chevy Tahoe could sell quite well here though if they make it a bit more luxurious, looks a bit cheap and plastic-y inside to me.

That's what one of the Caddy Escalade variants *is*.

And failing that, there's the GMC Yukon Denali - Tahoe with an upgraded interior.

Am I forgetting any?
We have the Integra (as someone said) and the RDX which is called the Honda CR-X, though it does have less engines and a horrible face, the RDX actually looks ALOT better than the CR-X.

As for the Infiniti's I don't think they'd sell that well compared to BMWs and Mercs.

I was kind of more talking RR Luxury, Escalade isn't quite there IMO, though I only sat in an old gen, I know there's a newer version out now.

What are you expecting from a tarted-up luxury car based on a workhorse? The new one's miles ahead of the old one; I still find it hard to wrap my head around the fact that it has 403 horsepower. images/smilies/blink.gif

How can reliability differ in different countries?

You're right, most people who can afford a Lexus can afford to pay more for a BMW, but why would you do that unless you want to pay more for the image you get from a BMW/Merc?

Plus, they're not priced competitively. You buy an Acura and pretty much eveything is standard (minus satnav). You buy a Lexus and you get certain options with others organized into packages. You buy a BMW or Merc and you get no options and all the rest are individual options you have to buy seperately.

Do BMW still charge extra for paddle shifters on their auto boxes? Yeah...

^ True, but most luxury cars are made in their respective countries of origin. Sure there's a few BMWs, Mercs and Lexi made in North America but in the most part they're from Germany or Japan so the reliability shouldn't be vastly different across the globe.
