Default James Bond Gets Another New Car

Some new Bond (and car related) news for you all.

In related news, shots of Daniel Craig and Caterina Murino shooting a scene with the classic 1960's Aston Martin DB5 model are up at 20min
Any ideas what it could be? Surely not the new Mondeo! images/smilies/ohmy.gif

There was also this very small picture of Craig as Bond.

Although it is only very small looks bad. images/smilies/thumbdown.gif

i read in a quality newspaper Ford paid the producers to let Bond drive the new Mondeo, but i can't tell if it's really true.

I hope it's a Ka, because that's about the only thing that would make a new Bond movie more laughable.

It was a Mondeo, I read. Probably an ST220.

This is confusing me, though. The Mondeo's showing up, there's the Aston DBS showing up, and a Q-modded Fiat Panda too?

Too many cars, Mr Blonde Bond.

Don't be so quick to judge, Bond really has had some less-than-stellar cars in the past. Remember the Citroën 2CV from For Your Eyes Only? How about the Renault 11 from A View to a Kill? Ok, they may have been stolen, but he's got the Aston as usual to make up for it, anyway. Who knows what crazy shit will happen with/to the Mondeo, anyway? Those two cars mentioned above were in some pretty awesome chases.

Daniel Craig kicks ass. Hair dye works wonders.

Whilst I'm not disagreeing, he looked rather smart in the Lotus Esprit, another low-volume British car maker.

A Bond car should reflect the Bond character himself; Very British, classy, gentlemanly but when it's called for, all action.

Aston fits perfectly, Jaguar is probably the only other brand that could pull that combination off.

I read in WorldCarFans that a new Aston Martin is being developed fo the new movie. They even had a skech (looked alot like a AM V8).

And they sed that it will be an Aston Martin as the next bond car. Maby Ford payed the money just for using the Mondeo (or any other) in the film as a everyday car or a car of the bad guys or stmh. Because Ford + 007 = @%$#^&%$ I think images/smilies/smile.gif

And yes AM is a real Bond-mobile. But I realy liked the Lotus Esprit and BMW he used. images/smilies/smile.gif

Hmm, one thing I can't get about bond cars is : a secret agent would never use most of those cars. For example, an Aston is way too rare to be used in a street race. So is a Lotus and a Noble. A secret agent would have a car model that looks so generic and has a very usual color, because if it attracts looks the bad guys would know something might be cooking .... and in the field of spying, that's not a very good thing. Also, the car should be modified.. as in be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Look like a base model but perform like a high-end model. So in a car chase Bond would have the power to outrun all of the bad guys and in the event that anything goes wrong, he can fit into the traffic like any other.
The best one would be a new-york cab in new york. If the bad guys started chasing that ... how many cars do they have to check before getting to the right one, really ? and by the time they do, he would have already gotten away.

That's not the point of a Bond car at all. Bond isn't supposed to hide or escape, he's supposed to kick their ass and humiliate them, at the same time driving a really nice car and get all the nice girls.

Well, that's in the case of James Bond, teh fictional character, but that would never happen in the real world. Bond movies are fun to watch though .... they're a nice satire of what real gov't spies actually do.
