Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 by Reiter Engineering

Turning road cars into race cars and then back into road cars seems to be Reiter Engineering's new specialty. The factory-supported Lamborghini race team, which also recently built a street-legal variant of their Murcielago R-GT that competes in the FIA GT1 and European Le Mans Series, is now offering a road version of their Gallardo GT3 racecar. Based off the standard Gallardo with the 5.0L V10, the "Strada" features carbon fiber bodywork including fenders that have been widened 60mm, a new front fascia with "shark" style air ducts, side skirts and a large carbon fiber wing at the rear. A single large center-mounted exhaust system reduces weight by nine kg and added an extra ten horsepower, while new three-piece alloy wheels are wrapped with ultra sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 2 rubber. The interior stays relatively stock, although the stock seats have been replaced with leather-covered racing units. While we wouldn't say the result is subtle, it's definitely one of the cleaner designs we've seen.

The wing and the bizarre exhaust are a little tacky for my tastes.
But overall, it's not bad. I've seen worse.

I once was overtaken by a Gallardo on the Autobahn. It wasn't even going very fast, but it was so f*cking loud I almost creamed my pants!!!

I hate those "road going racers" like the GT3RS and this. Just buy the real race car, for less money, and get more excitement.

Not a fan, sorry. I don't know what's up with all these unimpressive cars being brought out by tuners recently. Loose a couple pounds from body panels and a bit wider (the car holds power enough) and looks IMO a lot uglier, a tad bit more power, and some new wheels? For the tons of money that this "upgrade" would cost why not keep the better looking OEM kit, throw one of the many bolt on exhausts, and than call up CCW or something and get new wheels?

Maybe I am a "hater" it's 2008, nearly 2009, I expect something "new" from tuners. Not stuff that has been done for years with a new body kit.

By going that road you lose the possibility to pose with the car and that's what Lamborghini is all about.
And your neighbour won't notice it either.

But anyway isn't this car few years too late, there's a new Gallardo already in the showrooms and nobody wants to pay that much for an "old" car.

The wheels are ugly and the rear spoiler offends me aesthetically (but pleases me aerodynamically). The rest of the car is freakin sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet though.

I can see why people don't like the wing, but I kinda think Clarkson is right saying lamborghinis should have stupid wings and green paint... I've always thought that gallardos and murcielagos should have from the beginning had ridicilous spoilers... But then again, going outrageous in styling isn't really the trend these days...

The thing that replaces the Gallardo looks like an unshaved testicle, with diseases on it, when parked next to the old Gallardo.

I love the simplistic way they've done it, no ugly garnish that Hamann and Edo want to stick onto lambos.

Unless you're a really keen driver i doubt you'd feel different in this car over the stock or superleggera, maybe the extra downforce at high speeds would help. it's more a posers car but at least it's a decent looking kit on the better of the two gens of Gallardos out there :p
