Default Mazdaspeed RX-8 - US

Is the Mazdaspeed RX-8 available in the US yet? Because I think I saw something on Speed Channel awhile back about it being here or coming soon.

Well I sure hope it coming to the States soon. I want to see one.

In all seriousness, I think that it is coming to the US. But I really can't say when.

The MazdaSpeed RX-8 will indeed come to North America and Europe in a few years. Why not now?

Because the current JDM only MazdaSpeed RX-8 (which is already out of production since it was a limited run) didn't have major engine mods like the next one will.

Think Mazda MP3 vs MazdaSpeed Protege...

The MazdaSpeed RX-8 has a completely reworked suspension, bodykit, ECU, air intake, exhaust system, upograded brakes as well as various interior upgrades.

So it'll be very similar to the one we'll get, except that the one that will be released as the true MazdaSpeed will have more engine upgrates (i.e. Supercharger)

Hope that helped images/smilies/smile.gif

do give me the source. And the MPS RX-8 is being developed by Mazda Australi has turbo not a supercharger. It churns out 360 bhp and 350 NM of torque check it out at mazda australi's site.Don't remember the address hey what google for then.IMO it will be at least 3 years before it comes to production like the M6mps.and the M6 will be priced at around 30k USD

I have heard the supercharger rumor as well...which makes sence...as turbos give more power up high, where rotaries dont need it, while superchargers give it more down low, where they do.

also mazda has lots of exp. with SCs, ie. melenia

First, that's not a MazdaSpeed RX-8 it's just an autralian dealership that decided to develop it's own performance version of the RX-8.

That won't get out of Australia.

And Mazda will use a Supercharger which is a lot better adapted to the Renesis.

No, but that doesn't change anything to me images/smilies/rolleyes.gif I know they don't only make cars in Japan, but anyway, I can tell you that it's in no way an official car and that it's not THE MazdaSpeed RX-8.

Mostly in terms of emissions, compensating for the lack of low torque (no lag helps) and also the overall design of the engine works better with a supercharger, but that's getting technical (i.e. I don't know the exact reasons)
