Didn't know about that. I was mainly going off of how they felt when I drove them, I liked the Chevys best.

If it were me, I'd add a third option and go Chevy/GMC. I haven't driven the Ford, but I have driven GMs and the Hemi. After driving the Dodge, I'll NEVER have one. To me, the engine felt gutless and the fuel economy was horrible. AND, you've got Chrysler's/Dodge's reliability (rather, the lack thereof) to take into account. If the decision HAS to be between those two, I'd go Ford in a second, and that's coming from a GM guy.

Another quick thing, I've got a friend who has a Ram 1500 long bed. V-6 I think, but from what he tells me the autobox sucks. When he accelerates it sometimes has trouble figuring out what gear to be in. It's a comfortable ride in the cab. Still, I'd much rather prefer the Silverado...

Ram diesel, run it off used cooking oil that people throw away and fuel mileage wont be a problem

otherwise im rather neutral, the Current generation F150 is much better then the on ethat followed it, but comming from a Ford owning family, i wouldn't be suprised if at 40,000 miles all the "none critical" items like ball joints and struts start becoming super weak and the truck feels like crap

Sorry to render a lot of the Diesel posts useless but I just talked to him and he read the thread, so far what he's said is he doesn't want a diesel because it doesn't come with the half ton models, and are generally more expensive.

He can't get a Sierra / Silverado because GM's hold their value much better, I mean, look at the price of used Avalaches, lol.

So far what he's told me is that he think the Ford looks better and the interior is much better. But the Dodge has just such a menace look to it, and its more functional, and don't forget that HEMI that pumps out 45 more horsepower than the Fords Triton.

I agree with that. The diesel HD dodges outperform the Diesel HD Fords but the gas light duty Fords are better then the gas light duty Doges.

There was that confusing enough?

To be honest, I would have to take the Ford. It's got a better interior, and I do like the idea of a 3 valve engine. It's all about personal preference really.

Has he driven both of them yet? My dad has a 2002 Dodge Ram with the 4.7 V8. I mean the interior is a lot to be desired of but it is a work truck. In the end though, he may be going into the Ford. Dodge is just meh other than the HEMI and diesel engines. You are right, Dodge has that attitude going with the way it looks but I think the best thing for him would probably be the Ford. I've driven both and sad to say, I do usually prefer the Ford (Second to a GM truck though 8))

I'm getting confused, I'm seeing alot of pro-ford people, but I'm seeing Dodge is winning in the poles, lol.

Well all I have to say is that yes, the interior of my dodge looks like it was "made out of a wheely bin" as Hammond would say. But with the 20" wheels you sit so high up and you just feel like going "PPPPPOWEEEEERRRR"images/smilies/lol.gif
