The big debate on the porsche forums now is how powerfull the 997 turbo will be.

The jump from the 993 turbo to the 996 turbo wasnt that much. So some people worry the new turbo will only be 450HP, and maybe a Turbo S will be 500. Of course ferrari, BMW, Merc, Corvette are releasing models with over (or close to) 500 horsepower... so will a 450 turbo be enought to compete?

The 996 turbo was faster then the 360, so the real test is the new F430 which is leagues better then the 360. Tough comptetition, so the thinking is the heavier 997 turbo will need at least 500HP compete. There are many doubters thinking the 997 turbo will be a dud compared to the comptetition, but I have a feeling porsche will come through.

Also the new GT3 is rumored to be 405 or 420HP. So we shall see how it all unfolds!
