and the same GT-R that they tested with the yellow 911 Turbo on Rockingham Circuit.
911 GT3 for me please.

Awesome car, but I just still can't wrap my head around anything coming outta Asia as being a performance car I'd want in my driveway. And all the tuners / modifiers / fanboys aren't helping it's cause either.

It's just that unlike any other Japanese cars, the GTR is so uniquely Japanese. Everything from the engineering and the styling is so purposeful. I think the GTR is seriously one of the best cars launched in 07/08.

I love the GT3 (especially the RS, in green). I wouldn't buy an R35. Is too big (or at least too high), the race version looks much better. The problem might be the pedestrian safety regulations, the hood must be higher, not as low as the race one. I'm sure is a very fast car and is nice to drive, but i really hate the looks of the thing.

im sorry but...
Flat 6 > V6 8400rpm > 7000rpm RWD > 4WD 1400Kg > 1750Kg Badge i think we have a clear winnah for teh perfect driver's car.

I'd personally rather have the GT3 (Doesnt the Nissan only go around the Nordschleife as fast as a mere 911 turbo? I assume than that the GT3 would trounce it), but the GTR is still an amazing car.
When i finally get a real job and if i make the money i'm expecting (plus a little but more thank you bank debt!), i wanna get a vanilla 911. Only $75,000 or so How well do they hold their value? I assume well, but even still is it better to buy used?

yeah its just to Japanese for me. not saying that i dont like Japanese cars. but with all that performance controlled by nissan.. it just doesnt feel like its a wild power house that has 4 wheels and a thing to turn with let loose on the open road. it feels more like a science experiment thats being very confined. id rather have the ZR1 in ever aspect of everything.

Ehhhh, if i'm going to spend $200,000 on a car it sure as hell is going to be something better then a corvette. (and thats WITH my GM owner bias!)
Thats Lamborghini territory.

The 911 GT3 is twice the price, SLOWER than the 911 Turbo, and makes LESS power (GT3=415hp, Turbo=480 for 07) The GT-R is faster around the Nürburgring than the 07 911 Turbo, let alone the GT3.

Still undecided about the GTR, the design appeals less to me the more I look at it, guess I won't have a firm opinion until I have a chance to drive it (so probably never). |

^ around the ring... both the GT-R and GT3 pull about the same time. The GT3 really shines on trackday events.
But GT3 is much more of a proper driver's car, nothing beats an agile, high revving sportscar.

70 grand markup on a $110,000 to $140,000 car (depending on who you talk to)

The GT-R has a bigger trunk, can fit four in a pinch, and has the engine in the PROPER end of the car.

The GT3 looks tiny compared to the GT-R in those pictures. The GT-R even looks like it would out-muscle it.

no. GT3 RS is the hardcore trackday version, the normal GT3 received plenty of praises from many motor journalist when it comes to being a daily driver.
