So I was tailgated by a dickheaded dude in his raised truck just a couple days ago. He pulls up to me at the light and when it turns green he floors it (I'm guessing).

Then as he pulls away at about 60 in a 35 zone he gesturing like "What? What? You want some?"

And I can't do shit because I'm in a silver 2.4, 115hp Honda sedan with my old mum in the passenger seat.

Made me pretty hotheaded for like a few hours.

People like that need to be run over with their own cars, and then shot with their own guns, and then set on fire with their Bud Light.

I've had a few of those, the other day I was exiting a parking lot the correct way using the lanes when a Suburban blatantly cut through the parking spaces to cut me off, I sped up and layed on my horn and he pulled in next to me in the going against traffic. He pulled over and got out, of course I kept going. Called him some bad things though, also took not of his, "In God we Trust," license plate. It's scary though, and infuriating. The Miata seems to attract rednecks.

In my experience it's best to just let dipshits like that go - getting in their face (physically or in the vehicular sense) just promotes more anger and gives them a chance to "prove how much of a man they are".

Let 'em go, take the high ground - karma will sort it out.

People like that you just have to laugh at. Nothing messes with a douchebag more than not being taken seriously. That or get used to flipping people off in front of your mom images/smilies/lol.gif.

I'm sorry, but I've got no patience to wait around for shit like that. I'd rather create my own karma. images/smilies/twisted.gif

Heh, I should clarify my 'karma' comment. By letting them go, and not getting worked up myself and rising to their bullshit, I feel better about myself - that's what I meant by karma - not so much karma catching up with them, but me feeling good about myself.

for me it's usually the principal of the thing, i'm not slowing down to let some jackass that's driven up the left turn lane to overtake me pull in front of me (happens all the time at Chadstone shops here on princes highway)

Yeah. I kinda feel that way now, a few days later.

So yeah I guess it's all good.

I just live in an area where there aren't that many "hooligans". So it's kinda new for me.

I've always wondered why when I drove my jeep I had a 2.5L 4cyl and everyone would say wow that's huge for a 4 cyl, but when you hear about something like a 5.0 V8 it seems small in relative terms to V8's.

Really? Mine's a 2.5l 4 cyl as well and i've never had anyone say anything about it's size, and what's wrong with having a larger engine on a mid size jeep, you have better economy because the engine isn't straining and it isn't excessively powerful either.

I usually just slow down even more. images/smilies/mrgreen.gif That really gets them. And when they speed up I do too, so they can't pass. It's kina a dick move but w/e. It happens more often with my new car. No one fucked with me when i had my elco. I just rev the engine a bit and everyone clears out of my way with that car. images/smilies/lol.gif

All this talk of douchebags reminds me the other day. I was driving in my miata with my gay cousin in the passenger seat, top down of course, to go get some lunch. We both saw 4 dudes in a convertible PT cruiser and my cousin beat me to it "That's fucking gay."

Most 4's don't go over 2 liters. Most American V8's, until the passed 10 years, averaged a minimum of 5 liters. Figure GM's most common v8 engine was the 5.7/350, Chrysler had the 5.8/360/magnum and only Ford really pushed a 302/5.0.

Sounds like a ass, but getting upset about it for hours just means he really did win. So sorry, you loose images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Seriously?!? your a car person and you can't stand getting passed on the freeway?!? Usually the way i feel is the faster everybody is driving the better, only time i get upset is when somebody is speeding and makes a very rude pass or very illegal pass (like on the inside shoulder) because then everybody starts presuming that just because you speed your a asshole. The thing i like about Michigan is people don't seem to get all up in arms if you drive fast, and thats one of the reasons i could never live in Canada, too many assholes who care way to much about how your live your own life.

For some reason I really want a volvo c30-r (not sure if the one below is the r version, probably not)

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l135/lp2137/10xj1.jpg

I'd prefer it in white with black rims and tinted windows.

^ I saw one up close and sat inside at the Columbus auto show earlier this year and that was easily my favorite 'down-to-earth' car there. And I'm usually not a fan of Volvos. It's a very funky little car.
