Meh who cares??? Stupid contest. No-one in their right mind would order a car like that with that gearing anyway. Just like no-one would actually order a Koenigsegg geared to do 240mph. You would buy it geared for about 210mph or so and enjoy wheelspin in the first 4 gears.

Good achievement but so what.

I'd love to see the VW execs faces if SSC rang them up to borrow Ehra-Lessein images/smilies/tongue.gif

Well that rules out alot of other candidates such as the Pagani Zonda, the Koenigseggs, the Ferrari Enzo, etc. etc. images/smilies/lol.gif

Chances of doing 200mph is very slim. But is it not funny how the Veyron was built around two numbers and two numbers only: 1000hp and 250mph.

I'm reluctant to agree that the "ultimate supercar" was built around two arbitrary numbers spewed from the mouth of a corporate executive.

What is the point of having ANY supercar? Rarely will anyone do the top speed of the McLaren F1/CGT/Enzo/Veyron/Aero/Zonda/CCX/F40/XJ220/Miura/etc.

One of the MAJOR points for making the Veyron was that it would be the fastest production car ever made. What's the point then? None. As I mentioned, mindless ramblings from the mouth of a businessman, not a car enthusiast.

This is a dick-size contest where every company is trying to show thier car has a slightly bigger dick than the Veyron. The amusing thing is the Veyron never entered the contest and doesn't care (never set the record when it could have), and unlike the others, has qualities other than a big dick.

So all these other car makers do is make themselves look like insecure and attention grabbing hacks.

I wish they'd concentrate on making good cars rather than focusing on one figure exclusively.

Id be more then happy for the SCC if it was something original looking, in the way the Keonigsegg was or something, but its not! it looks like a Diablos with more wind tunnel time, and being that its not a Lamborghini it has no right looking so .


Beyond that though it just doesn't really give me anything that would actually make me want to dream about it, and what else really is the point of a Supercar if you cant dream about it?
