They *don't* break down, leak, or self-destruct any more. In fact, they're pretty good competition for the Big Three And A Half (since Kawa and Suzie merged their bike divisions).

![]() AND HELP ME OUT HERE, PEOPLE: Is $1000 (approx.) too much to pay for a 1994 Yamaha Seca II 600 with 34 thousand miles on the odo? http://syracuse.craigslist.org/mcy/803113353.html ![]() | ||

| Depending on the amount of "cosmetic damage" I'd be very happy to pay about $1,000 for that.

The Seca II was competition for the Bandit 600 when it came out, but almost nobody bought one, so plastics and such can be hard to get. Broken turn signals and scraped footpegs don't count.

They have continued to do that since then and everyone I know who has had a new Triumph can't stop saying positive things about them. I like every Triumph they make currently but the Thruxton, Street Triple and Rocket III are my favorites.

| Well, the Yammy Seca got sold. But here goes round two, I've found another one on Craigslist. This one's red, a 1997, 18,000 miles on the clock, light cosmetic damage, and $1800. The owner lives 30 min away but is willing to meet me here at the University for it. ![]() Spectre, could you sand off the damage off that cowl and repaint it? Or hell, I'd leave it on there. It'd be a nice "FUCK YOU" to everybody around, a little bit of motoring defiance. | |

But you can get more air scoops, and there were aftermarket ones at some point. Or you could do a fiberglass repair. Have you considered the competing model, the Suzuki Bandit? It's thought to be the better bike of the pair.

| So remember that Yammy I mentioned, uh, two posts ago? Here's some more pics, including said "light cosmetic damage": ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So I might offer $1000 and ride it without the fairing ( naked bikes) for a while. What do you guys think? | |

Not the most economical proposal... Especially since that damage looks easily repairable by a plastic welder. Add in a body shop respraying it, and you could have it back on on a couple of days for under $200, depending on local pricing. I've bought worse for more money, that's a pretty good deal.
