Update: I got a new battery from Advance Auto Parts and installed it. Took 10 minutes with the choke for it to start up, not surprising since it's 34 degrees here. I had to ride it to my friend's house and leave it in their garage (where frat boys will presumably pee on it, spill cheap wine, and knock it over) for Thanksgiving break, and afterwards I'll need to think of a wacky harebrained scheme to get it back to MA involving my fraternity brothers, an ostrich, a bus full of nubile cheerleaders, 28 pounds of sour cream, and an abandoned warehouse shamelessly converted into a secret strip club/chicken hatchery to throw off the evil dean of admissions and keep our chapter house away from his minions of chess club members.

23they used to call me Johnny Bravo.... I have actually given up already, full-faced helmet did not work, not even my almighty Brylcreem could keep the hairdo in place, the "open face" is back...
23I have no facial hair, but the problem with full faced helmets is that they only allow for "straight-up" removal, which always messes up the 'do, whilst the proper open faced helmet allows you to tilt the helmet up a few centimeters so you then can slide it back and off while still maintaining the structural integrity of the hairdo.

Then you should purchase a flip-front full face helmet:

Really? My mate had one and when he had an accident the flip up part failed, says he'll never get another one. I think his might have been a BMW model.
Oh, and lol at Avanti!
Yes, if you're used to 160+mph super sports (like your sig). However, my bike spends 80% of the time commuting on the streets and its low end torque is incredible. I hate inline-4's with a passion because they're almost completely unusable on the street in my opinion.
Now, if I was spending every weekend on the track with my bike (and not my car :p), I would probably go with a high horsepower smooth i4 bike. But I'm not, so I don't![]()
How old was his helmet? I always change my helmets every 2 years..
The only problem i have with my Gixxer is that it's almost impossible to keep it under the speed limit.. But i did a short tour of Europe this summer and it was fine. I usually wanted to ride more than the ppl on touringbikes that i was riding with..
At the time it was pretty new. I can get the full details off him if you want. He really liked the idea but after the crash he felt there wasn't much point if it wasn't going to give you better protection than an open face (some wind protection isn't really worth it),
What? I used my 600 supersports as every-day transportation year round for 2 years and it served me well. The ride isn't that harsh as it "in the words of clarkson" just punches the bumps straight. And if you encounter a major pothole atleast your suspension doesn't wiggle around for half a minute afterwards.
Taking off is a breeze as well, you barely have to go to 2000 rpm to get going, thats less than a millimetre of grip travel and it idles at 1500rpm.
Btw haven't had a single thing fail on it and it's 6 years old now. Of course there isn't much that can fail on a bike anyway.
