- Hydrogen is not produced it is a chemical element images/smilies/tongue.gif It has to be extracted from compounds.
- Not all H is in the form of compounds for instance Israel is sitting on huge deposits of it.
- Gasoline mining and refining is a very energy heavy process as well as making batteries for hybrids or BEVs
- HEVs generate enough energy to run an average house and they can do it all the time cleanly
- There are plenty of ways to produce electricity that has nearly zero impact on the environment or very little impact, burning coal is hardly the best way.

If we are going to be changing our entire transportation system we might as well change the way we produce our power.
