If you were James Bond and you could choose your next vehicle, what would it be ?.
Note: Include Q branch modifications in your post ( ie. missiles, machine guns etc )

Oh, this is difficult. Am I trying to blend in or am I hiding in plain sight with a flash car in Monte Carlo? The next question is classic or modern?
Let's go with modern and hiding in plain sight. Two possibilities spring to mind: the first is Aston Martin of course(probably DB9 or a variant), the second is Maserati (Gran Sport or the newly announced Gran Turismo). Either car should have the following: Armor Caltrop spreader (tire poppers) Military style run-flat tires Night vision HUD with infra-red filters on the headlamps. compact microwave emitter behind the number plate to discourage pursuit or encourage someone to stop or distract them into crashing. High intensity lights front and back to blind anyone at roadblocks or following Switch to disable all external lights - so you can drive without your brake lights giving you away All environmental protection equipment removed to get the most out of the car. Flame jets in the rocker panels At least one forward facing machine gun at least .30 cal with AP incendiary rounds Self-sealing fuel tank Fire suppression system Self-sealing radiator Ejection seat (naturally) Fridge in the arm rest that keeps my bottle of Bollinger at the perfect temp.

Mini Cooper S with a tea & coffee machine mounted in the cubbyhole
![]() just joking.. most probably an Aston Martin V8 Vantage with lots of toys. but since Blind_Io came up with such intresting gadgets, i cant think of anything else to add.... the usual gadgets i think. oh, bullet proof glass is a must (like the 7 series Pierce Brosnan used in the movie).. and that remote control cellphone thingy is quite nifty.

Lexus? Oh shi-

I think the 7-Series from Tomorrow Never Dies is as good as a Bond car can get. It looked good, it was discreet and it had a buttload of gadgets.
That car and Jonathan Pryce are the only two worthwhile things in that movie. |

I'd add and replace a few things of Blind_Io list:
Base Car: Aston Martin DBR9. (Why not? It's meant to take abuse of the track anyway!!) Modifications * "Healing" body panels that absorb damage and revert back to it's normal shape. * Deployable Stop Sticks (Caltrops are too much of a collateral damage thing). * EMP Devices to zap car engines. * Tear Gas Foggers to get people away from the car in an emergency (like in Tomorrow Never Dies). * "......cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. Cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks." |

I would have the 2008 Lotus Esprit and fit it with these modifications
Side mounted guided missiles Bullet proof glass Puncture proof tire Regenerative titanium armour and parts Twin forward firing machine guns Ejector Seat Thermal and X ray imaging Night Vision Q Branch Navigation/Vehicle Dynamics Processor which monitors the vehicles engine status, temperature, current power output, lateral g along with the usual navigation stuff. Smoke screen Land Mines EMP Pulse Gun Onboard ECU tuning Remote control using the original key with an implanted LCD screen Edit: I forgot to add " Mini bar and a shaker for all those martinis "

A yellow and black 1973 Ford Mustang Mach I with a 350 Windsor, NASCAR style roll cage so it can take whatever abuse may come and keep going. Eleanor all the way!
But on a more bondish note: British Car: TVR Sagaris Kevlar armor under the body panels with titanium plates surrounding the cockpit area. Bullet proof glass Heads Up Display with nightvision camera display for driving at night without the lights on. Two rockets mounted in the front for smashing through obsatcles Two SMGs mounted up front rear facing gernade launcer for taking out the tail Supercharged engine to make the most of my getaway And probably remote control Comedy Option: Portable Dialisys for all those Martinis... Sure, I might not have too much in the way of gadgets, but I suppose if I'm an agent of that calibre, I sould be able to drive well enough not to rely too heavily on them.

A Daihatsu Copen, no modifications are needed because it's the perfect Bond car to begin with.

Sticking with a British car for a British agent, I'd have a Jag XJR.
Modifications: Pretty much everything that's been said so far.

Definately an aston. A classic one for posing in Monte Carlo, and a new one for other places.
The modifications: -a full bar -a back seat which folds neatly to reveal a bed -hydraulics like the one ice cube had in a today was a good day video (for extra excitement when enjoying previous modifications) -maybe a gun, don't care. |

Alfa Romeo 8C. Cuz the bad guys would look at it and be stunned by the beauty, which would give Bond the opportunity to run them over/run away.

I guess a Lotus Elite could be a good Bond car.A race car with british style.
![]() as for the modifications a champagne flute holder as well as a picnic basket,oh and perhaps an autoradio with the james bond soundtrack in it, everything else is too heavy for a lotus and useless. James only need a walter PPK and his omega seamaster to save the world.
