Vauxhall's New Badge

Due to be unveiled later this year, the sharp yet simple new logo will set a more upmarket tone for the company as it aims to pitch its forthcoming models against prestige rivals.

It now features a more subtle satin silver finish, although the trademark red background is retained. It’s much more dynamic and modern, and updates a design that has been left largely untouched since 1903.

The new badge will debut at July’s British Motor Show on the grille of the new Insignia, which replaces the current Vectra. The logo will then be rolled out across the rest of the firm’s range.

GM can update the logo however they want, a Vauxhall is still a Vauxhall. This is reminding me of their attempts over here to make Saturn a more prestigious brand.

That's hardly a simple logo, it even looks confusing unless you've already seen the previous one.

They should just merge the Vauxhall, Opal, Saturn. Holden, and Saab badges into one amazing one. I would buy a Vasataabenal.

Vauxhaul, Opel, Holden and Saturn make sense to be merged into one brand, but why SAAB? That one is actually distributed worldwide with it's own (somewhat) unique products.

I think Saabs are still a bit too much like the others, just with a nicer interior. The problem with Saab is that GM bought them and had no idea what to do with them.

They've just zoomed it in....thats typical Vauxhall, lazy R&D

Personally I think the Vauxhall name should just be dropped and replaced with Opel, I see little need for one name in the UK only
