Default Wanna go from LA to NY, in 4 minutes?

This amazing road trip video is a must see, this guy took a trip from LA to NY and filmed the whole thing, then fast forwarded the footage into a 4 minute trip.

^ THat was an incredible video! images/smilies/eek.gif It's directed by Michel Gondry too, who in my opinion is the best director working today. I'd say Gondry has directed over 1/3 of the most important music videos ever made (the remainder would be shared by Spike Jonze and Chris Cunningham).

If you like Gondry's work, check out his latest movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's been my favourite movie for quite some time. Definetly a mind blower. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Wow! that was frickin' awesome. Man I love stuff like that. The aforementioned directors are the main reason I'm on the degree course that I am. Pure genius.

Anyone here seen Koyaanisqatsi? Strangely enough, I watched it for the umpteenth time just a few hours before watching that new Gondry music video. If you like time lapse video or are a big fan of film, watching Koyaanisqatsi is an absolute must.

Just be thankful it's easily found on DVD these days. I searched for it for years on VHS and never ended up finding a copy till the DVD was released. images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Give it a watch though. It's a landmark film.

There are many things I love about this movie. I was simply amazed by Gondry's vision and skill (a lot of the scenes that I thought were CG'ed were actually shot by camera), but I have to say my favourite part is the first and last 5 minutes. Just 10 minutes of pure film shooting, nothing fancy, nothing special. But in these minutes every shot, every angle, every melody, every word that Jim Carray says (and his voice)...everything just feels right. Of course other parts of the movie are mind blowing, but those 10 minutes really got me.

It's good to have another Hollywood production movie in my DVD collection after Lost In Translation

Finally got a chance to see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (bought the DVD).
I'd say it's at least as good if not better than Vanilla Sky (my previous all time favourite in this genre).
It really got to me (a lot I could identify with).
Only thing that was a bit of a downer is that I had the plot figured out a bit early in the movie (curse of having an analytical mind).

^ Gondry movies are usually that way - if you really watch them closely you'll figure them out quickly - but he always provides you with enough mind-warping eye candy to keep yourself busy. I love rewatching his films and music videos just to try and figure out how some scenes are put together. He's an absolute magician when it comes to camera and post production effects. images/smilies/biggrin.gif
