Why would you take the 944 when the 928 is so much better?

Well no, its more weight that makes the difference, the 928 weighs about 1,6 tons, the 944 only about 1,2 tons.
Its more an emotional thing, I always wanted one, I nearly bought one instead of my A6, then my wife got pregnant and I bought a not so sporty estate, nevermind its at least faster in a str8 line.

^ Never, ever say 'str8' again, mkay? And its always the woman's fault, isn't it - honestly, getting pregnant just when you wanted a sports car
![]() And I would also have the 944 simply because it looks great and the 928 is hideous. |

The 928 is heavier and more of a luxury GT -- the 944's 4 cylinder is basically half of the 928's V8. I still like the 928 but it doesn't handle like a 944 and it's perfect weight distribution. Throw in the 944 Turbo, and that most 928s are sadly automatics...
More power is good but it's hard to overcome weight/mass. A school bus with 2000 hp isn't going to be 'sportier' than a Miata. Last edited by janstett; November 9th, 2009 at 1:29 AM. |
