What are (in your opinion) the worst cars ever made? Here are mine:
#1-Dacia Logan: a car that has no soul, is cheap and poorly buit. A farmer's car. ![]() #2-Ssangyong Musso Sports: i'm surprised they've even sold one ![]() #3-Ssangyong Actyon: a very beautiful car...if you're blind. I see Actyons on the street and i think that the man who bought it is an blind moron ![]() #4-Shuanghuang Ceo: a one ncap star car, copied after all european suvs, a proper chinese car |

Now it's over here, yes, it is a bit off the pace, but it is still the same price as a supermini. And (call me irrational but) I like the look of the estate version. I'm not saying it's any good over here - I am only saying I honestly believe it doesn't deserve to be one of the worst cars ever. Time before someone posts the image of a German guy doing a Logan elk test...3...2...1... What would be the worst ever in my book? Possibly the Suzuki X90 - an answer to a question nobody ever asked. Possibly the Jag X-Type, for essentially destroying however many years of Jag heritage with a Mondeo in a skirt. Or possibly the Ssangyong Rodius, just for the look of it. edit - or yes, possibly one of the Chinese SUVs that have the rigidity of cardboard.

The Dacia is far from being the worst car. The chinese or Korean SUVs on the other Hand ... they are "pretenders" ... and that makes them bad cars. |

i like small cars, but even i will admit i have a inner loathing for X90s so deep that i have contemplated breaking the law on many occasions just to satisfy my urge to improve the cars looks
I'm going to stick my neck out now and say that out of all the small crappy american cars you can get, the a V6 Tempo is by far the best, its still a piece of crap, but having driven many POS American cars from the 90s i can easily say it actually has some redeeming features. Neon is probably one of the worst, with the Dodge Dynasty probably being my absolute least favorite, for one because it was actually trying to embody the Buick Lesabre, a already terrible car, in a much cheaper guise. awful awful awful awful awful Last edited by Ottobon; November 11th, 2007 at 8:57 PM. |

that "Shuanghuang Ceo" thing is one third Ford fusion, one third Vauxhall Antara, and one third BMW X3. Those Chinese have no imagination whatsoever...
I think the logan is a pretty good car too, actually. It's basically a Renault 4 that you can buy brand new tomorrow! IMY, the worst looking car is the Renault Twingo. Sorry, I just can't find the beauty in this thing. ![]() worst ever car is the Austin Metro. ![]() Image speaks for itself. |

The Logan isn't quite a farmer's car ... it isn't ugly (as top gear presenters ... and i said) and it worth the money, you may say that it isn't sporty ... well duh ... it doesn't pretend to be ... and has quite good quality for that amount of money ... it isn't dangerous to drive ... it's a bit safe, 3 star euroncap ... it's quite the best in the segement ... what wloud you go for ? Chverolet Aveo ? Fiat Albea ? come on ... it isn't a medium size luxury sedan ... it's a budget car for God's sake.
The worst car evermade is the chevrolet aveo 1.2 |

Pretty much every car posted so far is the "worst" because it's ugly...

^ Most of us never owned a Metro, so we can't tell how bad it really is.

On the other hand the new Twingo looks awful - it is a diluted version of Renault's current design language, which doesn't seem to work on small cars at all.

Yes I know, so how can you judge it to be the worst car ever made?

Heh, Ottobon you must have been looking pretty hard to find anything redeeming about a Tempo! It's no wonder you don't see any of them on the road anymore. The old Dodge Dynasty and Chrysler Lebaron (the eighties sedan ones) would definitely be up there on my list of worst cars ever though. |

I'll have to stick with cars that I've had personal experiences with, although I know there have been far worse cars made.
1) Early 90's Hyndai Excel - the first manual car I learnt to drive in. No aircon in the Aussie summer is unbearable, and the gearbox was so awful, I'm pretty sure I could drive anything now. I once drove it up a really bumpy country road, and the whole muffler assembly worked itself loose. Everything about it just felt wrong. ![]() 2) VN Commodore - I was subjected to long trips in the back of one as a little kid with my grandfather. I remember the road noise was horrendous and the ride more like being in a boat than a car. I used to give me headaches. 3) 1984 Mazda 323 - First car I ever sat behind the wheel of. I know that by that time it was falling apart, but I can now see how 80's craptastic it was. It smelt really awful too and the seats fell apart on my mum when she'd only had the car for a year. 4) Nissan Tiida (not sure it its called something else too) - Worst new car I've ever driven, you know it's bad when the super-basic car it replaced was a better car full stop. It reminded me of an old Korean car. I was minding it for a friend and was so happy when she came back from Sydney and took it away. There was a reason I tried to talk her out of buying one! ![]()

i actually think they're quite nice looking. Chevy turned that car around from being a Suzuki/Daewoo and made it their's. it's reliable, safe, and alot better looking than cars in that market (except for the Yaris). plus, its tied up in sales with the Yaris and Fit for last month.

1. Its Seats: Not really supportive in the corners, but much better then any of the other fords i have owned in regards to overall comfort, there particularly good if you think Lumbar support is a left-wing plot as i do. Very very very comfortable, especially for such a cheap car, and especially for having the miles on them that mine do. 2. Throttle and brake pedal setup: Both of these have rather long but well placed throw, i have no need to heal-toe as my car is a automatic, but i have noted that i can very easily do so, much easier then in a Miata actually. More important though is the way that they seem to make it super easy to either brake at the limit or accelerate out of a corner at the limit, which does sound stupid in a tempo, but let me get to the fourth point. 3. Ground Clearance and suspension travel: I don't know why Ford built in as much travel as they did in the suspension, but the fact i can bump a curb at 30mph without hurting the car is pretty nice. Its no off-roader, but its given me much more liberties on the bumpy stuff then any other car i have done ill-advised off-roading in. Also i can't remember the struts ever hitting the bump stops (dispite the front end being completely blown) whereas with the later model Taurus like i used to own would rattle and jutter if you hit the slightest bump and happened to not have had perfectly functioning struts. I will admit that the long suspension travel does make the car rather terrible to slide around in at speed, but if you keep the tires at the limit of adhesion its actually suprisingly enjoyable, but i think i only ever discovered this quality because of the next point. 4. Exhaust Noise of the 3.0 (once they exhaust has fallen off that is ): Not at all sophisticated but probably as much fun as any other car, maybe with they exception of the old Alfa Romeos i have driven. The car hums along at a pleasing note, and when you accelerate it sounds like the world is falling apart around you, you don't go anywhere fast, but it does'nt matter, it feels like a scene from Deathproof but somehow even more viral and explosive. I'd like to explain that i HATED my Tempo until the exhaust broke, and that i have no reason to like the way it sounds other then that it genuinely brings a smile to my face. Around 1995ish they appeared to have changed the heads and exhaust manifold on the 3.0 v6 and from there on the 3.0 Ford sounded really farty and annoying, although deep (big whoop), the early 3.0s are if nothing else rowdy as hell. The fact that if you set the exhaust off to the side it pops bangs and shoots flames doesn't hurt either, and it idles in the same way a old 911 does.
