The problem is, the technology, if it can even be called that, is outdated. There are better, safer and lighter ways to build cars now.Originally Posted by jetsetter
The old Crown Victoria ONLY works as a police car, where the extra durability comes into play.
My friends stupid brother thinks their GTP V6 Grand Prix can beat our Subaru STi. Yea right.
Its a good car, but its not THAT fast. lol
The Uplander and the Sprinter are fine. Good cars.

the worst is when they get a white one and you think its a cop and slow downOriginally Posted by ESPNSTI
That's what I meant, they're tan colored in Iowa.
well, that sux. i just bought a new ranger FX4. i happen to love it, so i don't really care about that magazine (which is bribed by the manufacturers).

AH , there all white up hereOriginally Posted by ESPNSTI
Really depends on personal preference. I don't consider the Crown Vic outdated, just built on a different concept.Originally Posted by Vette Boss

The Eclipse is/was a fairly good vehicle. Older ones were better however. Turbocharged and all wheel drive.

Is the Sprinter really an american car? I mean most of the design probably came from Mercedes. The Grand Prix is sitting on an old and outdated platform like most GM cars. Can't wait until they make a comeback with a proper new RWD platform.

The Sprinter is a German van. I have seen both Mercedes and Dodge versions in the US.Originally Posted by Wizegui

That's exactly why I want a Crown Vic. I may have mentioned it before, but make mine black, with 15" steelies, tinted windows, and maybe a few antennas, and watch the left lane open up. Muahahahah!Originally Posted by carey965

The real Crown Vic you want is a fleet surplus, they are actually built differently than retail models. Many of the components that are difficult to replace in the retail Crown Vic are designed for fast replacement in the police package. Also, parts are easily available on the used parts market since there are so many more fleet Crown Vics than retail models - and they tend to be in high-risk positions so many end up at the scrapper.
"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?"

eh, Philly cops are switching from the Crown Vic's/Chevy Caprice's to Impalas and Chargers. Just saw a PHP in a Charger-caught a 'vette on I-95 with ease.Originally Posted by Vette Boss

Ok, we get it. You like American cars. You don't have to constantly defend them to the death, though.
