| Yes without any doubt. It's a great car and its performance is superb. I've always been a fan of GT-R and this one has surpassed all my expectations. And for that price... what else do you want? | |

| I saw one (finally!) a few days ago on the street, and it looked awesome. The sound of the exhaust was sweet, and the looks of the car was enough for pedestrians to turn their heads back to look at the car one more time. For something that costs considerably less than European exotics, I think it's worth getting.

Car: a slow one Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I would almost buy one for it's performance, but it's so damn ugly. So I would go to a BMW dealer and get a 335ci or M3. |

| Interesting question because until recently I would have said no way. Just don't want one. But now?? Yeh I really think I would, and not necessarily because its the cheap alternative either. Whats the competition. M3, C63 AMG, RS4, IS-F. The GT-R is faster and probably easier to drive than all those. The only thing that worries me as an everyday proposition is the ride comfort. | |

| Banned By Request | Yes, purely for the performance it delivers, such as being able to cause a strained neck when changing direction. Considering it *only* costs about $72,000... *note to self: be gentle with that round thing...

| I'd absolutely love to have one, but it's not very high on the 'have to own' list. Given $72k, no I wouldn't buy one, I'd buy other things first. | |

| I'd rather buy something a bit less hyped and better looking. A classic car will do me fine. | |

| This is a very unspecific question. It really depends if I am looking for a car of that type or a car within that price range. If I was looking for a sports car, there would be no doubt that I would buy the GTR. It really is an incredible car, but for that sort of money, I would get myself a nice for door luxury sedan.

| I'm not Moe | I think the car looks good and I would probably enjoy driving it, and the various 911's and the Viper cost more than $72K. So I would probably at least strongly consider a GT-R. |

| I would have to say no. 1) Looks like shit (don't argue it's subjective you won't win) - any car I want to spend money on has to be good looking. This is one of the reasons I didn't get a bug eye STi even though it would be much faster and about the same price as my current car. 2) Streetability - yes it can be driven on the street just fine. Yes it is faster than any alternative. However, in daily driving it will be no faster than a Civic because you can only go as fast as traffic allows you to and for those rare times when there isn't much traffic you are unlikely to break a 100, which lets face it just about any car can do. 3) Alternatives - Same price would get me RS4, IS-F, M3, Z06 (possibly used) and a whole number of other cars with great performance and honestly I would prefer an RS4 or the Vette. 4) Gearbox - yes I suck at stick, yes I drive a chicktronic/failmatic/shittronic/etc... and I'm REAL tired of it, for a fun car I would like something with a damn stick shift no matter how much money I will spend on clutch replacements before I learn to drive one properly. 5) AWD - at the stated price this will not be your only car and really RWD would just be more fun. (Again yes I know I have AWD but it's a daily (only) driver, if I had the means I'd have an MR-2 or a 240Z) 6) The above brings me to this, when looking for a fun car that will not be the only one to drive I would look for something that can be tuned. I can get a 240z shell/rolling chassis, get an RB25/26DET, do some work and have an awesomely fun ride with looks to match. There is always getting an older R34 and tuning it. It's just very hard to justify a purchase of such a car for fun and impossible to justify for practicality. Maybe if I was born insanely rich I wouldn't care but as I wasn't I do care at how I spend the money no matter how much of it I may have. Last edited by prizrak; September 1st, 2008 at 08:34 PM.. | |

| Yes, if in this situation I was forced to buy 1 new car and that was the max price, you just can't beat that speed for that price. It's light years above anything sub 100k from Europe for me and America is out of the question (again for me) If I was given 72k and told "have fun" (which is a kind of pointless way of looking at it, 72k and I am getting a house and not a car) I would get a MKIV or R32/33 GTR and take my chances with a non-motorex car (not too worried here) and than an 05-ish LS430 to daily. | |

. There are so many factors to consider (save up more money and buy something more expensive and better, save money and buy something just as good but cheaper, etc etc). Hence why the discussion would be open-ended and the explanations more diverse.I voted yes because, it's just a great car and I don't think I could pass it up. I was so tempted earlier to say no because there are some cars that should just be left on their plinth, but I couldn't let this go, no matter how ugly it is or how it's a bumped up datsun or whatever else you wanna throw at it.

Car: 2-wheel Haro F1 Rep Power: 17 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A Nissan IS a Nissan. If you had $72,000, and you're a businessman, no doubt another car like a Porsche 911 Carrera S or even a used Ferrari 360 makes you sound better when you and your clients are discussing about cars. No matter how good the car is, only rich GTR nuts or people who appreciates cars would part with the $72k, same idea as the VW Phaeton - too expensive, no badge, nobody buys. At least that's what I'm told! ![]()
