Well in all honesty the Corvette isn't as direct as the Viper because that's what makes the Vette more usable everyday. And because of that, even though the Corvette can achive higher cornering speeds than a viper while being less communicative, it can be "freightening" if your not careful. Thats not to say the Z06 is not a good handler, beacause it is. Like one editor explained, the corvette Z06 is basically a race car that was slightly modified to better suit the driver for daily duty. Now tell me of one race car that doesnt take as much focus as possible to drive at the limit? It takes skill to drive the Z06 fast around a track, it deserves the respect as well.

The Boxter inadequately underpowered, and there are a fair share of straights on the 'ring and there is no denying that. I also want to add that Z06s come with runflats (ran the nurb on runflats as well)...which as we all know aren't the ideal set of tires when it comes to hard driving.

To take a ride on the coast, slowly, they may not be ideal, but I don't see why runflats wouldn't be good for track use...

'Ring lap times are really only comparable if they are done by the same driver. Back to the SLR vs. Enzo. the Enzo is quicker in every way imaginable and handling is much tighter, and way more responsive. Just by power/weight numbers, the Enzo has 30hp more and weighs over 1000lbs less. And Enzo is made to be driven very hard on a track. YET: the Enzo is only 1 second slower on the 'ring??? |

Since the ring is 22 km long, and has a hight difference of 300 m, the condicions can be very different from day to day.

I wouldn't buy a car whose handling is considered "frightening" by car mags. Since i would be using it every day (and you guys would, too i guess) i dont see the point. I dont really care if a racing driver can get it around the Nurburgring faster than some other cars, because i dont drive there too often and i dont need to impress people with that. I want a car that handles good and feels fast - Who cares about lap times? We should be grown out of that. |

The whole freighting bit is when the car is at the absolute limit and over rough bumpy surfaces and that was ONE EDITORS OPINION.

Airborned.. lol, yeah.. there's a picture of it on the Nurburgring getting some air.
Maybe the car is too light.

yea shouldnt be getting that much air, needs some more aero work. Magnussen was saying that after the jump in the first pic, there was a sharp right-hander.

I bet the guy driving the car was on an adrenaline high for the rest of the day, I know I would be.
Despite all these negative things, I still think that the ZO6 is a freaking awesome car, I mean the HP to weight ratio is outstanding, its fast, its got a huge engine, and its handles like...well I can't think of anything, but you get my point. |
