FinalGear's Ugliest Cars - Results!

But I love the Spada Codatronca and 300C....

So do I. :comfort:

I didn't vote, but I am pretty confident in knowing who will win.

I voted for both of these.

In regards to the 300C, while I don't see it as ugly, I doesn't appeal to me so much, because I look at it and can see some wannabe rapper/thug/gangsta rolling around with ugly rims, ugly paint, going on about his "fiddy G's". Hooray modern bling mobile...

Update: I wasn't able to get WinXP working on my computer again, but the good news is that I got myself a copy of Vista Ultimate. I'm going to install that now, and if all goes smoothly, I'll have everything working in the morning.

Been away since last Friday, death in the family.

However, fessing up time. I voted for the Infiniti. I could've put almost any other one down there, as I just don't like their style, but no one agrees with me. Go ahead, throw tomatoes at me. :p

FINALLY. Got Vista working, downloaded SP1, installed all the updates, downloaded FireFox and went straight to work on this. Next update will be tomorrow, I promise that

Today's Trivia: Pretty much every class of cars made it into the list. Everything from large sedans, to pickup trucks, and even Italian sports cars got nominated.

2 Point Cars

http://img55.imageshack.**/img55/2867/2pointkv2.jpg

  • Chevrolet Avalanche - The Avalanche was Chevy's attempt at a multi-use large pick-up/SUV crossover. With the addition of some removable sections between the bed and the cabin, the cargo capacity could easily be extended, but this feature did not help the cars looks.
  • Citroen Ami 6 - Distinguished by an unusual reverse-raked rear window, this French supermini was the best selling car in France for years. Over 1.84 million were made in its 17 year life span.
  • Fiat Ducato - 3rd Generation - A big white-van-man mobile, the Ducato looks like a fish... a very inflated fish.
  • Ford Ka - With looks that can kill cats and birds, Ford's little European supermini also made the cut. The Ka's main drawback was the Ka's 1300 cc OHV four-cylinder Endura-E engine, a design dating back to the 1960s Kent engine used in the Ford Anglia. Although its an outdated engine, it still provides enough kick to move the car around.
  • Ford Mustang - 3rd Generation - The Fox body Mustang was generally viewed as the downfall of the world famous American pony car. With some body styles looking like a plain sedan minus the rear doors, the Fox Mustang really wasn't too much of a looker.
  • Hyundai Accent - 2nd Generation - The 2nd generation Hyundai Accent was designed to be bigger and more angular than its daddy.
  • Jaguar E-Type - The Jaguar E-Type had looks well ahead of its time, and for a certain few, these looks were ahead of their tastes too. Of the 3 Series of E-Types, the last one, 1971-1975 (pictured here) was particularly a looker.
  • Nissan QashQai - Using a name strangely reminiscent of certain food items, Nissan tries to give personality this otherwise bland entry into the overcrowded crossover market. Intended to compete with the Toyota RAV-4 and Honda CR-V, the Qashqai is smaller than Nissan's other crossover SUV, the Murano, from which it also borrows many styling cues. Not available in North American markets, it replaced the smaller Primera in the UK and was renamed "Dualis" in Australia for fear of connotations with "cash cow."
  • SsangYong Musso - The Musso is the second vehicle from our South Korean friends. Built with many Mercedes Benz parts, the Musso has won many ralleies. It even has won design awards, but that still doesn't stop it from being too ugly for us.

Oh come on, the Ford Ka isn't that bad, especially the SportKa.

The convertible, on the other hand.....

Fox body? I know it was you mattdizzle

How about a clean one?

Stock wheels were not great, but then again no wheels looked good in the '80s.

EDIT: That particular car has run a best of 8.91 @ 161 in the 1/4 mile, in the configuration pictured, with those tires (drag radials)

I didn't like that body, but I've always liked the hatchback ones.

The Citroen Ami only got two points? Only two?! Seriously? I mean, just look at it...

It manages to be both cute and utterly heart-attack appalling at the same time - like a puppy that was melted in an oven. Or Batboy.

Even the Avalanche looks better than it. Even the Avalanche with "body hardware" looks better than it:

And I wished the E-Type made a stronger showing, just to spite people. Oh well, there's only so many people that can think like me and demonstrate such levels of awesomeness to go around. :p

Those look awesome to me. I definitely prefer them to the later models.

IMO, Except for the Ami, All of the 2 point cars aren't that ugly, actually.

I didn't think they were that bad either, except the Ami and perhaps the Fiat.

I voted for the Avalanche. I typically voted for cars I have seen for this poll, with the exception of a few standouts. If I had known about the Ami I would have voted for that, wow that is one hideous car could possibly take the #1 spot if it were a little more known. That SsangYong is pretty awful too, :shudders:

Always hated the look of the Fox, they are not horrible looking by themselves but it's the fact that they look like a family sedan that's been chopped in half when they are supposed to be muscle/sport cars that makes me dislike it.

I can see your point of view... Fox kind of looks European, though, so that's why those ones in the pics work for me. They're like bigger siblings to the hot hatch versions of the Mk3 Escorts.

Had to post one more thing for foxes, doing what they do best. :D

Compared to the previous and following models, the Fox body Mustang was a huge let down (specially those "false sedans", like the one in the picture posted by CrazyRussian), and I don't understand how on earth the model survived after them. The hatchbacks were better, but not by much. Enough to save them from entering this poll, I guess.

As for the E-Type being here, there's not much I can say, only that obviously you have never seen (or heard) one. One of the most beautiful machines ever built by man.

As for the rest of the entries, I completely forgot about the Musso pickup (the normal SUV is not that bad), otherwise it would have gotten a couple more points, and the Ami 6 is certainly one of the less fortunate designs to ever come out of France. Certainly deserving of a much higher position :)

Except for the styles immediately before and after.

Looks like they ruined the V8 Vantage.

I know no one agrees with me, but I just don't like it. It's not muscle-y enough.
