I love Opera and have been using it since version 5 something, or whenever it cost money and could be downloaded with advertisement support. I've tried Firefox many times since to see what the fuzz is about but never got it.
Main reasons i use Opera is....
* Tabbed browsing. Got hooked on it way before IE or FF implemented it. Even when it first came as extension on FF it just didnt feel right.
*Transfer. Much better download managing then IE or FF had. Might have changed now, but Operas download manager has just always felt right to me.
*Mail. Integrated mail client is just something i love and have used ever since it got implemented.
*The Sidebar. Having the sidebar with mail, bookmarks, contacts, transfer and history is just something i cant be without. Just makes sense and feels right.
*Mousegestures. They just work. I dont get why Viper says it's bloat. You dont see them, feel them or know about them unless you want to use them.
Basically i just like Opera as a package. It has everything i need and want in one solid package. If you dont like bloat, you can hide or make it as minimal as you want. If you like clutter or have everything accessible like me, you can have that......and most importantly you can have it your way without searching or downloading some extensions.
Opera is not perfect, it still has pages that dont render perfectly and the plugin managed could work better, but that hasnt discouraged me for many years.
My Opera setup....
