My friends and I decided to take on Top Gear and challenge their assertion that the greatest driving road in the world was in Europe. We reasoned that it could be found in California, and so we decided to have a cheap car challenge to determine if we were right. We gave ourselves a budget of $5,000 each for the cars and then set out to see what we could find.

I'm posting this here because as this is the biggest Top Gear fanbase on the interwebs, I'm figuring there may be some interest in our project here. We recently completed production and hope to complete the film before the end of the year.

EDIT: HERE IS THE SECOND TRAILER:

FOR THE BEST QUALITY VERSION:

If that's too much to load and you just want to watch the crappy flash version, you can go directly to the trailer here:

Or the youtube version here:

We also have the original 1-minute trailer up on Youtube here:

(for some reason you'll have to go to our site or youtube directly to watch the high quality version)

...and here are a few stills from the film:

Judging from the trailer, it sounds pretty good already! Sounds like you have the mateyness down pat, and that's the big element that TG excels in above other shows of its type. Look forward to it.

Looks fantastic!
Do you mind, as one film maker to another, if I ask you what kit you are using? It looks to be of very high quality - HDV?

Oh and those Q-Pods are great fun. We raced a bicycle against one a couple of years back to see what would happen... It won, but only by 5 minutes!

Haha not a bad job, well done! Hoping Andy Wilman will get a look at it, eh?

U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-E-A-B-L-E :shock::shock::shock::shock::shock:

Looking forward to this!!!

Wow this looks cool. I live in California so I'd like to see the end product!

Any hints about whereabouts you shot the film? Looks like socal for sure to me.

Looks like the GG Bridge (durr) and Big Sur. I'm guessing you guys hit up the 101 and like sequoia national park or something?

Indeed looks brilliant! Can't wait for the full thing.

Fantastic!! The trailer's great work, so I imagine the feature will be superb.

Really looking forward to the final product.

Wow, wow.

Looks really brilliant. Can't wait to see the end result!

Superb, bits of it seem a bit scripted though (Or is that just me being a bit too skeptical?)

That looks great, can't wait for the final product.

But...

$5,000 budget and you end up with a Neon? o_O

Looks great.. I just hope the end result is free, otherwise we'd have to torrent it.

How much longer until it's ready!!?

Oh, and I'd love to see how it was put together, being a fellow film maker.
