Random Thoughts....

In the two weeks since falling through her floor, she had never bothered to repair it, or even lay some plywood on top of the hole. (A sheet is about $30, keep this in mind.) She claimed that it would cost $6500 to repair it. (Again, keep this in mind.) And so, in the dead of night, she proceeds to drop through the same hole again. She also happened to be drunk, unsurprisingly, since she apparently reeked of alcohol. (She claimed to have only had a shot of whiskey.) When the medics arrived, they found the man she was living with shouting at her. What made it interesting was that she was unconscious during his tirade. Adding to the oddity of the whole scene was that, as the medics worked, the deeply concerned man told them not to damage the fabric skin of the plane he stored down there. (He was a pilot in a local airshow.) She ended up having to be airlifted to the hospital. From what I understand, there are several services in the area, some of which don't charge the patient directly. She got one that did, at a cost of $6500.

Hahaha, I'm sure that belongs in the Awesome Thread. Great story.

My friends are EMTs and so far they've only told me about a few minor car accidents...nothing like exploding tanker trucks or helicopters crashing into each other like NBC tells us.

Oh dear. I've just bothered to count up my 31 bottles of ink for my fountain pens. I hadn't realized I had so many

thanks to uni ive been so out of touch with F1 i have no idea whats going on :(

A while ago I mentioned how I was looking for a new Leatherman knife. Well, I think I've found one that's close to perfect:

Skeletool_Detail.jpg

Leatherman Skeletool. It's got all the stuff I might need to make emergency repairs on long motorcycle tours: screwdriver, pliers, and a big fuck-off knife that folds out independently. I was planning to buy a either a folding knife or one of these, and now I won't need to! Amazon has it for $40.

I love my Leatherman I had this one, then the Secret Service took it, now I have a skeletool and I really like it.

Psh, I carry two knives and a leatherman on me 90%+ of the time. Deals with just about every situation I've come across.

I have a leatherman charge, but I rarely carry it. I do always have my Kershaw black scallion on me though.

Well, you can make use of this current F1 summer break to catch up with everything! :)

I had a cheap Leatherman knock-off, which I did not replace whith a real Letherman when it broke because I just could not be bothered to carry a full-size multitool around. But I always carry a Spyderco UK Pen-Knife and have a Victorinox Swisscard in my wallet, so I am able to deal with most of the stuff I come across.

...waiting for some American saying how he always carries 9mm, .45, M-16 and MG3 with him to deal with problems...
