Cool Videos

Anyway, I hope after all this that it's not a repost.:D

It is, but it's been some time since it was last posted. And it deserves to be reposted imo.

I felt the same as you while watching, but I also wondered at the end how much of it is real actual batshit-insane fanatism, and how much it is just a money making scheme*? I think the younger members are really indoctrinated and properly fanatic, but I wonder if Phelps belives in what he preaches himself. Whether he really is the crazy zealot, or an incredibly ruthless con artist extraordinaire?

*They all study law, do their protest, people get furious, some assault them. Wham! Lawsuit time! Aaand result: some money in the bank.

I searched for "Louis Theroux".... Bupkis.

Please people, just put a few descriptive words in the post along with the video so that other people can search properly.:)

Anyway, to me it doesn't seem like a scam if their intention is to sue someone for personal injury or assault or something. There are easier ways to make money that way and you don't have to be a lawyer. Just look at my cousin! He falls down in casinos for a living! Also, there's a good chance that someone will kill them which would be a risk they must surely be aware of and it would hardly be worth the risk...

It does seem odd, though. They are all reasonably smart and articulate... How could they possibly be making some of those ludicrous signs and not be laughing on the inside? ?:?

maybe they are just doing it for attention or for a book deal or something... It's hard to tell because it's all just so bizarre. I do think Fred Phelps is for real, though. He just seems like a genuinely crazy old man.... But maybe his kids are just going along. It'll be interesting to see what will happen when he dies. I wonder if they'll keep everything going even when he's gone.

Inspired by NecroJoe's Star Trek/A-Team link.

USELESS FACT: Star Trek: TOS was not the first time Shatner appeared with Nimoy on TV...

It's The Wire... so calling it art would be only appropriate.
