More Cash for Clunkers bullshit - this time not about the cars

Oh good grief could that BE any more reactionary and typical FOX news? Geez.

Summary for those of us at work with no sound?

Thread starter bought into fear mongering on an old GB broadcast.

It's been stated that it was just a blanket copy/pasta legal jargon and had since been revised. Plus, something GB doesn't really dwell on, this is an area of the CFC site that would ONLY be accessible by dealerships to file claims. Not something the average citizen would be seeing or even using.

Taking the slides at 1:25 out of context, that does look a little more threatening than your average disclaimer. I guess if it has been revised since, it's a non-issue, but "when you do this the government owns your computer and all of your data" isn't exactly an ideal statement to be blindly copy/pasta-ing.

Don't think this has been posted yet.
It has. And we all lol'd before.

Oh wait, you don't actually listen to Glenn Beck, do you?

JScullin - if it was indeed just a copy/paste then they should pay more attention to creating legally binding documents. Also, GB did say that its for dealerships only.
Dogbert - not only have I been listening to Glenn beck for ages, I also agree with a lot of what he says.

Ever see the crap in the EULA for Windows?

It was probably something used elsewhere for external computers that will be connecting to a government server. And it was close enough to use in this instance w/out seeing the need to pay to have it read & revised for only a few weeks use.

This is simply GB/Fox making something out of nothing to feed their own crazy viewers. Not saying you're one of em. Just the ones that organize tea parties and end up on Youtube when asked if they know what a Fascist is and if they understand the social security and medicare they collect is also a form of socialism.

Sorry, but calling someone an idiot without backing up that claim with facts makes you look like the idiot.

Ok, let's start with this little clip then.

He's a nutjob.

You're saying you honestly wouldn't start using emphasized sarcasm every now and then when at least 3 out of 5 calls you take are from people who are offended by the very fact that you have a radio show?

Does Glenn Becks website install a cookie on your machine? Yes, yes I believe it does.

OMG - GLENN BECK IS TRACKING YOUR EVERY MOVE!

Well, the yelling is not nearly as bad as kramer's
Idk, seems like a lot of it was his idea of sarcasm, like the constant little remarks and mocking in the beginning. He does interrupt a lot but the caller wasn't all that peachy either - she didn't make much sense and Beck is a man that doesn't seem to deal well with people that speak without any knowledge on the subject.
You might not like his style but a lot of the things he says make sense (not necessarily in this clip).

Ffs, just listen to him screaming "Get off the phone". He is MAD :?

Completely different. Having a cookie on your computer and handing your computer and all the files on it to the government are different things. Cookies do not give the government the right to your property (that would be the patriot act, but that's off-topic here)

No idea why, he knows exactly where they are coming from.

I was listening the day this call was made and I was just as angry as he was. After spending 3 hours a day on the radio railing against Bush's handling of the war, the border and bailouts. And after stating over and over again that he wants health care reform but not government health care reform because of their track record with everything, he is called illogical by someone who has never listened to him more than once. I would also like the host of that video to play the next 15 minutes after she hung up.
