Was walking on campus when a glimpse of something unusual caught my eye. Walked over and found this.

Those 2 signatures are Jim Hall (founder of Chaparral Cars) and Jay Leno.


It was a side project done by Proctor and Gamble to compete in the $200X grassroots racing series for charity. The whole car was bought and built less than $2007. Altogether it weighs about the same as a standard C4 Vette, all the weight they took out went back in, in the form of that giant sucker motor. That alone produces 1000lbs of downforce. But its riding on stock suspension with stock steering, so the guy said driving it is nearly impossible on the autocross track. That said Danny Popp (professional Autocrosser) posted a faster time in that than his trackday 2007 Corvette Z06.

I remember watching a jay's garage episode where he had these guys with the car on. I could probably provide a link if anyone is interested.
