Random Thoughts....

Fleas are similar. I've learned how to rip their heads off with my fingernails. If the flea is one that's been exposed to a pesticide, but survived, I can crush it between my thumbnails. They make a cracking sound when you crack the exoskeleton, just make sure you squish enough for it to definitely be dead. Spoiled for ew...
I've squeezed eggs out of the back of a female that was about ready to lay. Yes, I'm careful to eliminate the eggs, too.
We've had cats all my life. We've had fleas a few times. There's a particular satisfaction in killing the buggers.

Yeah fleas are a nightmare especially if you don't tek the time to get rid of the eggy-weggs. Me cat has only had 'em once before an' never since. It's just tick we have a problem wi' but we do live int middle of nowhere. Me back yard is a forest. o_O We get a lot of deer round our house too so they bring a lot in.

Mother has a new theory about tick coming int house. Me father may be bringing 'em in. >_< Ew ew ew ew ew ew ew...

Glad I haven't had to deal with any insects. The benefit of living in the inner city.

I live in the inner city. We get fleas, mosquitoes, and cockroaches. And the cockroaches are... well... large and omnipresent. I stepped on a manhole cover once after dark and hordes of them ran out of the slots in the cover. There are also a few silverfish I need to work on killing. Oh, and there are flies, gnats, and ground wasps. I think I've seen an occasional honeybee, too. And butterflies. And moths. There's also the occasional ant invasion. I'm not sure what else.

We tend to avoid chiggers, tics, and similar. Those tend to be out in the tall grass, outside the center of the city.

In that case you are going to miss some of the best food, most guaranteed weather and friendliest people I have ever met. Just stay clear of Spectre - he one scary fucker!

I was going to ask about that. Sheep get ticks, don't they? And if they graze near the forest, they could get bitten.

What a coincidence...and a segue!

Some people on Facebook "like" the oddest things; one person I know just now "liked" Sheep.

Sheep.

And he is not even Welsh!

I think I'll stick wi' Cali. I can go racing wi' me Ewok. XD
There are plenty of insects there, too. :D Don't worry, we know the buggers and won't let 'em get to you. It's not like Australia where many of them are deadly. These are mostly either irrelevant or mildly annoying (and easy to avoid). :)

Dude, Aggies like sheep. And by "like" I mean, um... nevermind.

Yeah there's one thing that's been mekin me think an' that's why we don't have the mesh screens on our windows an' doors here as a standard. What freaks me out about OZ though is the stories of them mad spiders that like hiding in yer car then come out to say hello...

Re. the drunk sports fans in the city thing from a couple of days ago, just read this about the game tonight:

The province has ordered all six government and 13 private liquor stores in the downtown core to close at 4 p.m.

That ought to tell you something... and no, it's not that the powers that be are tightass prudes. They did the same thing during the Olympics too.

Random thought: People ought to worry less about what other people like, and why. Like the nitwits in jedd's life who judge his Doctor Who-ness. One's likes and loves = rather personal. Live and let live. I'm not a Bieber fan, but there's an audience for him and his material, clearly.

Not everything/everyone needs to be loved or even understood by everyone. You know?

Alas, good advice is easier given than taken. Not going to stop me trying to take it though. I'll take anything that Ellie is giving. :wicked:

Yay hugs from Ellie!

Quoting myself here, because I feel I owe many a sincere, heartfelt apology.

You see, I'm a hypocrite, and it only just hit me after writing this post. Some weeks ago, I openly expressed my confusion at those who go to male strip clubs and enjoy it. As such, I'm...beside myself with embarrassment and filled with contrition.

To those of you who enjoy it, please know I'm dearly sorry for questioning/trying to understand your enjoyment. It was not my intention to second guess your love of naked strangers in the company of others. I will do my utmost to take my own advice from here on forward, which, as Labcoatguy wrote, "is easier given than taken". Clearly. I haz fail.

*cries* Do you forgive me? Dare I ever show my face here again? Such. A. Hypocrite.

;) ;) ;)
