Only the last 1 gets multiplied, order of operations says do multiplication first.

The man speaks the truth. This is more of a visual trick than a math problem.

Order of operation rules (x and / before + and -), that means you have to calculate the 1x0 first and afterwards the whole + and -, except something is in brackets.

(1+1)x0 = 0
1+1x0 = 1
