I've always been kinda disappointed that I didn't have the money at the time to completely fix up my Lada Niva I had.

I did get it running and I took it out in the snow a few times, but it still needed major transmission work among a few other things which forced me to sell it. I made a good profit on that car atleast. :)

Oh well. Maybe someday I'll get another.

There's a few running around here in Germany, especially in the Eastern part, although I don't know what the market is like. I do remember you mentioning that parts were expensive, though.

It wasn't so much that parts were expensive (although they were more than your average domestic part) it was that everytime I needed a part I had to search high and low for it, I'd usually end up having to order NOS parts from alberta.

Oh no they didn't! :(

Poor Series 3. Bet it goes well though, and dual fuel tanks.

RoamingGnome: Is that second picture another angle of your avatar picture? That's quite a scary position to be in.

Yup. Funny thing was not 100 yards before, I picked up my friend's dad after he got tired of riding the buggy doing crazy things :D

I use to work in an ex-Lada dealership.
There was a guy who lived somewhere in the Eastern Bloc, when his car needed a part he'd get one from back home. He once needed an ignition module he said it cost him 15p.
