Viper's 1988 Chevrolet Crapsica LT

Had the oil changed today. It had only been 311 miles since the last oil change, but that was in September of 2009 and it was only $20 so I figured it was worth doing. It was also a half quart low (burning/leaking a little oil). The new oil probably doubled the value of the car. :p Okay not really, but that isn't far off...

I've also been doing a LOT of driving lately and even hills don't bother me anymore -- I can do it without rolling back much of anything. I think I'm ready to move on. :)

OH uses salt. But then who drives a Viper in the Winter?

Don't you just love America? In the UK there would be no chance you'd have anything like this for anywhere near that kind of price, let alone going into insurance for a new driver who is only just classed as an adult  And you're sitting there wondering if it'll have had a bit of a tough time out there.

Still though; I'm not a fan of the blue - and wouldn't you want a red one? :p

Yeah, thankfully it's an Arizona car bought at auction that this dealership is then selling.

EDIT: Oh shit, I totally misread. Only the first owner was in Arizona. The second was indeed in Ohio and drove it 13000 miles. :( Hmm...

I don't think that is as big of a deal. Not sure I would buy sight unseen so to speak, but I dont think cars rust quite as quickly as they used to, plus you have got to believe this was garaged in the winter...

Love the car, love the color. Hopefully salt is not an issue, my 2006 car has seen the full brunt of two winters (one of which had record snowfall) and has zero rust. And you'd imagine a Viper would be kept well as others have said.

He's gonna kill himself........sorry but he just is.

Viper, being able to do a hill start whithout rolling back DOES NOT equal the ability to handle a Viper in difficult conditions.....it just means you can drive stick in a decades old Chevy, my Grandfather can handle that.
This is like giving control of the global nuclear arsenal to someone who manages to fire a BB-gun whithout killing himself.

For God's sake be carefull.

Come on, give the guy some credit. He's not a halfwit moron or anything, he is perfectly capable of deciding for himself if he feels ready to drive the Viper. If he feels ready, who are we to judge him? He's a big boy, he can take care of himself.

This.

I'm happy for you Viper, hopefully you'll find the right car and have a fun (safe) time with it.

Same situation in Canada, the insurance would probably be nearly as expensive as the car itself :p

As for the colour, I quite like Vipers in blue, saw one today with white stripes and it looked excellent. But whatever colour you buy it in, stay safe and have fun :D

I'm well aware that it'll be a beast, but trust me when I say I'm not a risk taker and will not be taking it to near the limit any time soon. Sure, there's gonna be some time when I have to swerve or brake hard, but if anything I think it'd do better than the Corsica. Shit that thing doesn't even have ABS.

I will be outraged if it isn't in AnalGear Red.

I want something a bit different, plus I just have loved the color ever since the GTS came out.

I'm also thinking I may paint the wheels black:
