The coil pack for the left-hand bank is a whopping $1,222!
And Rowan was good and I love his work but I got the feeling he may be a bit of a snob, I don't know why.
Henry wrote an interesting blog post on Evo: http://community.evo.co.uk/users/HenryCatchpole/blogs/index.cfm/2011/7/18/Why-Top-Gear-frustrates-meJust been catching up on some tweets from last night:
@HenryCatchpole from Evo magazine "Nice to see Top Gear's as factually accurate as ever... a 9min lap of the 'Ring for the Jag?"
I was thinking the same when he said it.
I'd much rather someone rolled their car on purpose than by accident, simply because it's prepared for and controlled, and so they are less likely to end up in a coma.
I call bollocks on their used car repair prices
No, just kidding. Just looked up the cost of an aftermarket ignition coil pack for the CL600 (rockauto.com), and it's $1,029...and that's the cheaper one for the right-hand bank. The coil pack for the left-hand bank is a whopping $1,222! What you save in depreciation, you sure as hell pay back in repair costs with these monsters.
Atkinson isn't a snob. He simply doesn't like talking to people. He's the kind of guy for whom sat navs are the most important invention because he won't ask for directions. He lives in a world of ill fitting trousers because he won't ask for help at Marks&Spencer. So are half the people on this forum yet we still have fun. There's nothing wrong with being a snob.
I was expecting Jezza would do his usual 'but would I buy the GTR? No - because it has no soul, and at the end of the day I don't have a Nissan, and that's all that matters" thing which he usually does, and was pleasantly surprised.
