All this talk about Porsche entering Le Mans again puts me in mind of what happened the last time Porsche Motorsport participated in the top category. This is the 1998 GT1, the full carbon fiber tub redesign, shared nothing but the engine and gearbox with the '96 and 97' cars. It gave Porsche their 16th outright win at Le Mans.

That is a competition, not a training course. They run them a couple of times per year and all of the local PD motor officers participate. You can blame the lack of proper gear on the departments who don't update their uniforms more than every 40 years or so.
