What's your latest [non-technology] purchase?

I mentioned in off topics about how I wanted a new guitar, just one good guitar instead of multiple crap guitars.

And so I did. It was expensive, but I see it as an investment, something I can play for the next 30 years and it will hold up.
Normally $1049, I got it for $949, because of in store promo and I suppose also the salesman liked the cut of my jib.

It feels like I have been playing it for as long as I have been playing the guitar, 23 years. Just lovely.

^_^

Very nice.

The stratocaster has the nicest sound of them all, no matter which pickup you use. <3

When I went to the mall on... Thursday? I noticed that American Eagle had a sale on pants. So I found the least destroyed pants I could find and bought them $10 off.

Not sure what they are called but I like them. Lol.

Makes me want another guitar. I'd get one of these in walnut with red stain, or maybe black on ASH...but then again their solid metalic finishes are nice, too... Either way, stainless steel frets are a deal breaker, pretty much. Gotta have 'em. That, and I can't stand glossy necks/fingerboards! Would have to go satin or tung-oil. Love the birds-eye fretboard, though, but I think I'd go "no inlays" or maybe "12th fret only." This particular model would be $1034 for an american-made instrument, but was on sale for $884. Someone nabbed it before I could. :(

 And I hate satin/oiled fingerboards because I am a "heavy fretter" and it slows me down. It's the reason I passed up PRS, the necks are painted, the fingerboards are oiled and are very slow unless totally clean or very little humidity.

But that's how I feel about glossy necks. :p Man, I had a Gibson Les Paul that I swear was clear-coated with maple syrup. :p Especially outside in the sun, or on a humid day. UV-cured satin polyester for me! :p

If your pickguard had the plastic sheet protector, don't forget to de-static it if you think your pickups aren't as quiet as they should be.

Humbuckers ftw! \o/

Add $25 to that and welcome to everyday-denmark <_<
