They obviously hate bikers, a lot. The curbs are angled so lorries can drive over them but act like a ramp for bikers, sending them into a spikey death. Who on earth approves this, especially since the roundabout is there for safety.....
 
They couldn't have just used some thorn bushes? Or Spanish Daggers (if they'll grow in Germanyland)? Same effect, without looking like some kind of Medieval torture/execution device.
 
Maybee the idea is to hit the curb hard enough so the bikers can jump over the spikes Evil Knievel style? :p

Seriously though, somebody wasen't thinking, probably the guy on the 'culture board' or whatever the German equivelant is who was responsible for selecting the 'artwork' on this roundabout, he probably just picked something he liked whithout considering where it would end up.
Remember these are the same people who call machines that make crap (yes, actual crap) 'art' so cleary any sence of reality and real world living is long gone in those circles.
 
10.000? art, that is. I want to weld scrap metal together too and get 10.000? from it.....

This is actually brilliant, because in time this sculpture will become randomly decorated with corpses, thus functioning as a reminder of the everlasting circle of life and death.

There's danger and there's insanity! And yes, we also like insanity, but there are levels of insanity that even we don't aim for! (Literally aim for, in this case!)
 
It is called "Kleines Rasenst?ck" aka "Little patch of grass" and it is 300 times magnified grass in case you didn't notice. And it cost 26.000?. 650m of pipe.

That's actually quite cool looking. And if someone wasn't paying attention and hit those then it would be their fault.

Precisely. It works as art and if you do not want to become a part of the installation, drive properly around the roundabout. As for cost I'd gladly spend 26 000 of germans money on that rather than useless things like paying greeks. The new inserting links function is useless

Yeah, well think about that when your brakes fail and you crash in to that. Also people dying is never cheap for nations, dead don't pay taxes etc, so there goes your economical point as well.

I wonder what the artist thinks, once his installation started killing people.
 
Cheaper to install and maintain than a Gatso........

I think it looks good but I can see a rather nasty case of "that's not gone well" on the horizon.
