It looks almost as nice a the concept

Nice looking - now let's have them drop the turbo 5-cylinder motor & AWD into it.

The styling looks alot like the SCC vehicle they did a few years ago, but without many of the concept toys.

I like it, but I would very much like to see it in a configuration to go after the top end hot hatches.

Hmmm, if they can get the pricing right, this might very well be my next car...

I dig it. A cool looking hatchback.

Looks allrite for a Volvo. Makes me think of an A3 when I look at it.

hmmm.. C30R T5.. sounds good to me

Wow, the back end is ugly, even for a Volvo.

It's supposed to resemble the old P1800's I believe.

I like it - a really nice alternative to the A3, especially if they're going to release it with a 5 cyl and that magnificient Dynaudio audio system they were speaking of when it was a concept car.

My mom wanted a small wagon, so we just bought a V50 T5 AWD, maybe we should have waited a bit!
Then again, I couldn't fit in the back of an A3 (and I can't recommend a car I can't fit in for roadtrips), and I doubt this would be much better.
Any word on when it comes out?My guess is as an '08 model, which will be perfect to bring the used T5 models into my price range for when I graduate.

And of course I really hope they drop the S60R's T5 in there (it isn't any bigger than their usual transverse five is it? Just huge turbos?). 300hp in that thing would give the upcoming S3 something to think about.

Volvo hasn't made a box on wheels for 13 years. (I realize the 850 series wasn't exactly voluptuous, but it wasn't a box either).

As long as it is ridiculously safe and the performance model is somewhat retarded (240hp through the front wheels in the 850R, before the common use of equal lenght half-shafts to control torque steer; turbocharging the hell out of the S60R instead of just boring it out a bit, turbo lag like hell in the old 740 and 240 turbos), it's Volvo enough for me.
And this coming from a guy who currently has 4 Volvos in his driveway.

In my opinion Volvo has made some good looking cars. The 1800 was gorgeous (that's the one in my avatar), and all the new models are good looking. The C30 just combines the two, and I think it fits in perfectly.

P.S.- yes, I know you are just being silly.

The P1800 ES to be precise - the estate version of the coupe used in The Saint with Roger Moore.

Personally, I always liked the look of the P1800 ES, especially the all-glass tailgate. I don't know why but I really like the look of this car, the front end is right up there with the E-type in my opinion, the sport of a coupe and the utility of a hatch. It was the first Hot Hatch.

I also like the Chevy Nomad, which is also a 2 door estate.

Any chance of seeing a C30R  ?Anyway cool car 8)

Yes Volvo, yes.

Now please make an R version... or at least T5 :D
