Could this be better than most if not all the AMG sedans out there?

You can get a manual in it so I say yes.
Bought time...autos are poop.

CTSV's have always been manuals/had manual as an option.

Right, I just hope the XLR will have a manual option, why ruin a good sports car with an auto.

well thats pretty much what AMG does, stick autos in their sports cars, but the XLR should have a manual><

Here is a look at the CTS-V with all of the actually "V" body work.

Although a mule for Cadillac's 2009 CTS-V was photographed a couple weeks ago, it turns out that it didn't really reveal the true face of Caddy's M3/M5 fighter.

These latest shots of a CTS-V prototype were taken in Germany, at a gas station near the famous N?rburgring, and this one's the full-on real deal. This test car has a new grille design, and a massive lower air-intake, both sporting a sporty mesh finish in the familiar V-spec tradition. The shape of the lower intake gets wider toward the bottom, where it joins a bold lip that juts out around the bottom of the front fascia. The fog lights and brake cooling ducts flank the lower intake, giving this CTS-V a beefiness missing from those prior prototypes (which were still fronting the same standard grille and front bumper design first seen last April).

Looks good. I'm interested to see how the rear end looks, because it seems a bit tall.

I think the whole car looks a bit tall, and I actually like the stock front better. Then again it is all in camo; I'm sure it will look absolutely evil in black.

Photos of the CTS-V on the Ring.

esterday, we brought you the first actual photos of a 2009 Cadillac CTS-V prototype. Previous photos didn't really reveal the true face of Caddy's forthcoming 500+ horsepower hotrod.

As promised, we now have some action shots of the CTS-V prototype on the N?rburgring track in Germany. So far, we have few specifics on the new V-series model. Some sources indicate it will have a 4.6-liter naturally aspirated V8, while others indicate it will use a supercharged V8. There have even been rumors it will share a powerplant with the "Blue Devil"/Stingray Corvette.

the rear overhang is so bleh, in the 3rd pic of the ring pics it looks like the car is rolling(they probably are tuning the suspension tho, prob reason for coming to the ring :p and also chassis tuning), well just kinda responded 2 my own point there

but yea hopefully work at the ring will fix this  , and they'll realize that they should shorten the rear end to make it handle bettr...screw boot space!

edit: yay 150 posts :D

New video at the link. Love that sound.

First revealed on 60 Minutes months ago, the 2008 Cadillac CTS has been one of the most photographed prototypes of the year. In our latest spy video, we catch the first shots of its high-powered brother, the 2008 Cadillac CTS-V.

Caught recently on the N?rburgring test track, as well as various surface streets around the famous German facility, this Cadillac CTS V-Series was outfitted with all the usual equipment found on these high-performance variants of standard Cadillac models.

Up front there's a deeper, more aggressive airdam along with a signature mesh grille. Closer inspection of the photos also shows an upgraded set of wheels and tires although it's not clear whether these are production spec or not. Heavy-duty brake hardware is also evident as are some slight alterations to the lower bodywork.

The most telling sign of this car's enhanced performance was the sound it made as it circled the test track. Like the previous CTS-V, the next-generation model will use V8 power and a manual transmission. And like the original CTS-V, we suspect it will borrow its V8 from Chevrolet's Z06 Corvette. With 500 horsepower and a six-speed transmission, the 2008 CTS-V would be a good match for European competitors like the Audi RS6, BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

Production of the standard Cadillac CTS begins next summer, so expect to see the 2008 Cadillac CTS-V on sale by the end of next year.

Photo of the front end of the new CTS.

Front end looks pretty good, not just for an American car, it looks good full-stop. Now if they can just get the interior right... :tease:

They should make the interior out of whatever the front end is made out of. :tease:

...wait, no. shit.

Didn't like the CTS but I don't mind this one. Love the agressive styling and love the natural sound of the thing.

But yeah...something tells me the interior will be crap and that'll kick it out of its target segment and into a different one.

How do you know? All we really have is the photo above and this photo of the interior:

Can't be sure if the interior in the photo above will be the same as the production vehicle though.

Shush. SL65 is only speculating. No problem with that, since no-one knows anyway. Except you, seem to (think) you know everything, about everything that exists or used to.

You are a good man for acknowledging that fact.;)
