BMW 1-Series coming soon to the U.S.

awww no. Not another one.. Its so pointless bringing it to the US. ugh

I like the 1 Series it reminds me of the 2002. Small, simple, rear wheel drive, yes you will pay for the badge and snob appeal but it will make a far up market brand more practical. Then again I did buy a Jaguar.

I beg to differ from the flow, but once you start seeing a one series up close for some time, it will start growing on you. I hated it first time, but three of my classmates have them, and I am really starting to like the way it looks. Of course, the design doesnt comply with any of the beauty standards we have come to know, but it's bold, and different. And it definitely stands apart, and quite a lot of people demand that, hence the appeal :)

That's gotta be the smallest coupe in the word, and the ugliest.

I agree. Nobody will buy a small and expensive hatchback when they could have a big V8.

The US isn't getting the hatch.

A lot of people have been screaming at BMW to bring out a new 2002. This is it. It may not look good, and may poorly seat 4 people, but when BMW puts a 2800lb car with 260hp+ out on the market that has torque (something the RX8 and Honda S2k lack), it's going to get attention, and people will likely buy it for the way it drives.

I almost didn't notice the camouflage on the back and was going to say "they couldn't be bothered to hide ripping off the Koreans on that back end"

What isn't camouflaged looks decent.

The car reminds me of a mid-90s Hyundai Elantra. In other words, I don't like it. I think the 1-series looks better as a hatch. Here's hoping the convertible is much better looking.

^ Wow, that's actually pretty uncanny. Though there aren't too many of those Elantras around, thankfully, so I won't complain.

This 1 looks far better than I would have thought. Must be a lot of fun; that is, if the poser accountants and middle managers and wiggers don't get to it first. After all, it's the cheapest way of owning a "prestige" BMW...

Hmmm <puts Cooper S w/ LSD plans on hold>

Hmhhh I have been wanting a sporty convertible and I drove a M3 convertible all weekend which was a great car but a lot of money even used.

Now a 135cic might be almost as fast as the M3 convertible for a lot less money.

While I'm still not a fan of the looks - the roofline's too round & the tail is awful - I'm guessing the 135i will be magic to drive.

300BHP POCKET ROCKET !

The only problem I can see are the rear lights apart from that it's perfect.

The pics of the interior dashboard, the way the silver sort-of rises up on the passenger side...makes it look like it's doing an Elvis via Billy Idol lip curl.
